The View in Teignbridge

They do not know how to make a proper mojito, my daughter and I both ordered one. They came in a half pint glass filled to the top with clear liquid and a lot of ice, there was one small mint leaf cut up into small pieces floating on the top. They tasted like pure soda. When I spoke to the waitress she said she would put another shot of Bacardi in them both. They still tasted like just soda water. We couldn’t drink them. I took mine to the bar and asked the young lad there to taste it to see if he could taste any Bacardi. He said he couldn’t drink alcohol, and the girl next to him said, there is an extra shot in there I put it in myself, at which she pointed back to the bottles behind her saying I put in that white rum. Which was not Bacardi and why we couldn’t taste any Bacardi. They had the cheek to charge me an extra £6.00 for the two extra shots of Bacardi, which were not in our drinks. My advice don’t order a cocktail in this cafe.

What a fantastic place, it was the very first time we have been to Teignmouth & to find The View, I am so glad we did, we only went to the Take Away side down stairs, & had cheese & ham toasties, very tasty, the next day we went back, again on the Take Away side & had cheese burger & fries again delicious, the staff are so friendly & helpful, it shows they take pride in what they do. Very Very Highly recommend go there for food & drinks, when we go back on holiday The View is the place we are going to go back to, can't wait.

My wife and I called in for lunch on Saturday 30th April. After finding a table we waited for what seemed an eternity for someone to take our order. Once the order was taken it took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Our tea and latte arrived about 15 minutes before the food so my coffee was mostly finished before we received the food. On the plus side the food was nice and fresh and the staff were polite.

If I could give it 0 I would. The staff were incredibly rude, I was standing for 5 minutes and was not acknowledged once, my mother finally asked how long a table would be and the woman said they couldn’t tell us and turned her back on her. I understand they were busy but it takes less than a minuet to make eye contact with someone and say ‘I’ll be with you in a minute’. It was a bank holiday Monday, were they really surprised that they were busy?! The pizza was rank and everything else looked like it had come from Iceland.

The staff were very nice but the food was terrible. I had fish and chips and it tasted like it was pulled out of a freezer and thrown into a microwave. I've never come across fish and chips that I'd struggle to eat before but this was a challenge.

Lovely warm environment with exceptional views. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Great service. One of my favourite places to 'coffee'. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fabulous cafe great menu everything clearly cooked fresh, the staff are a delight, service friendly, efficient and professional. It was really busy when we were there and the staff coped admirably always smiling. The sugar pastry apple pie is delicious, highly recommend.

Great Food, Excellent Staff who went out of their way to be Friendly & Helpful. Fab locations and views over the beach. Thoroughly recommend.

The view itself is of course lovely due to its brilliant location. The drinks were nice and fairly priced for the location however was disappointed with the sandwich.For £7 expected more than a small granary roll with one slice of tomato and some avocado.The fact that my espresso martini was also £7 those prices don’t make sense. Forgot to take a photo of the whole sandwich but it was only a small - medium sized bap.

We had a nice lunch with a great viewThe only downside was the portion was a little small and the seats we were in were a little awkward, you were arching over the table to eat.Girls There are very polite and friendly
