Food excellent- good choice- Shame chicken Cesar salad has reduced by half tho. Still very tasty. Staff very pleasant

I've been for dinner a few times now. The food quality is very good but the service has lacked in comparison; forgetting drinks or some part of the food was wrong. It's a shame that the service let's down some otherwise talented chefs.

Very disappointed. And not the first time.Group of us went for my Dad's birthday.Took ages to get a drink, got the drinks wrong.5 Steaks, 3 not cooked as ordered.Either steak was tough or knives are blunt, either way unpleasant experience trying to hack through steaks. Everyone said the same. Chips and salads ok.Belly pork meal was tiny and unsatisfying, 2 pototoes and 3 bits of veg, not three different veg, just 3 bits....Wine was very good....2 of 3 Puddings didn't came out as ordered. It was not busy and the service was not great.Unfortunately it was very underwhelming, I can't say any of us want to come back.

Very nearly messed up our lunch. Had booked and confirmed a table for 7 but when we turned up they had just reserved two tables next to each other. Was told they were very busy - it wasn’t and I Could see the booking sheet. Managed to squeeze onto a larger unreserved table which would have been better in the first place, which saved the day. Food very average and the fish and chips was 90% batter. Nervous staff which wasn’t their fault, they had to deal with low stock as so many things were out of stock, including napkins! Dirty glasses and cutlery. Really disappointed as it could have been so much better.

Stopped by for a pint and cream tea. Top notch cream tea. Lovely pub attached to the hotel with plenty of big tables for groups - think ours was an old chemistry class room table.. Get the feeling the food would be good here, although can't vouch for it.

·

Nice food. Plenty of tables. The staff were all polite and courteous. Would recommend for a fancy dinner or a meal after being in the wilderness. They have room for both.

·

Great food, great prices, staff extremely helpful with brilliant service, very clean environment. Visited again for a birthday meal, wow, food and service was amazing. You really need to try this place 😋

The way we see it: the chef should get a raise, the waitresses should get a new manager. A bit of an extra effort would make it a great place.

·

Nice place to eat after walk on the moor. Not quite what was expected as part of a 4 star hotel. It’s divided into two. The first part is a pub really with a bar and tables. Dogs allowed here. There is also a conservatory. Meals are served in both areas. The food was fine, and service ok

Lovely gem up on Dartmoor bottom of haytor.Great that it is dog friendly also... a big bonus for us.3 of us came up.. Sunday must of been less than 20 people including us in restaurant food took a hour n had to ask twice for the toast that is ment to come with the breakfast. Staff all seemed bit uninterested unfortunately
