Went for dinner tonight and found the bar and restaurant over run with customers, all staff acted with full professionalism at all times despite the fact they were clearly under staffed. Taylor the restaurant manager was so polite and helpful despite clearly being under extreme pressure. The food was lovely BUT the amazing staff were the real star of the show!

We were recently in Elmbury Lodge for a birthday meal. The food was quite reasonable for the price, but several menu items and drinks were unavailable for whatever reason, for example, the Sunday carvery was unavailable at 4pm. The staff were friendly and helpful. When the bill was presented, the birthday boy was given a hand-written greetings card from the staff and a box of chocolates which was a lovely touch.

Went for Sunday morning brunch - glad we booked as it was packed. Plenty of well cooked hot food choices and continental breakfast choices along with unlimited fruit juices or hot drinks. Self service style. Very good value of money.

Went on consecutive nights recently and the staff were lovely but there was a supervisor/manager who basically needs to learn some manners. She shouted at us for going to the restaurant rather than the bar and (on both nights) shouted at and belittled various members of staff; young staff who were still learning.I don't know who she thinks she is but nobody should have to put up with her (very bad, very aggressive) attitude; staff or customers.Unfortunately I didn't catch her name as any badge she had was obscured or unworn. They are hiring; hopefully to replace her!!!

The chefs messed up my steak twice asked for Medium rare in which they brought me it Blue then brought me a 2nd one out Well done. After asking for a 3rd the chefs didn't even bother making it me and I waited 20min before i had to go and ask where it was to be told they didn't think I wanted one. °_°Dreadful from the chefs. Not great for waiting team. The food and staff was amazing my first visit this time it was disgraceful.Otherthan that the rest of the meal was nice

Went for my sons birthday on a Sunday. Most of us had the roast dinner which was really nice. Probably the best meal I've had there. Soft play always a bonus, but we will be returning for the roast potatoes 😁 Staff were very helpful and patient

Bar staff are great Taylor and rest of waitresses go above and beyond to make sure your well looked after so I would give it a 5 starBut the chef and quality of food is shocking your paying 15-20 pound for a meal and it comes out , chicken like rubber and could probably smash a window with itCottage pie was like smash mash was just added to mince and gravy .Food standard is really poorBut the only 2 meals we haven't had problem with was steakAnd the fish and chips was goodBut other things on menu constantly sent back to kitchen .Shame because the bar and service team do there best for you

Well, I came here two years ago and thought it was about the worst value you could have. I drive past here everyday and usually think...it can't be that bad, can it?So today, £16 down for 1 meal and a pint and I'm yet again appalled.Requested bacon well done - came not well cooked.Ordered onion rings - they never materialisedChips we the pinnacle of cardboard. Not a single crunch anywhere.Chicken was so dry.The meal it's self was a total waste of money. Please don't make the mistake I made yet again today by eating here. Use that same £16 and go to ANY other pub serving food and you'll have a much better experience and quality of food.Do not waste your money. The Canterbury less than a mile away is far far better.I left a £4 tip when paying at the bar and not so much of a thanks and a smile came from any member of staff including who may be the manager who processed the payment.Avoid avoid avoid
