Visited here with friends for evening meal. There were 8 of us. We ate inside and then asap outside by the river for a few hours. Was very pleasant. Food was lovely but the only thing I would say is one of us ordered the small fish and chips, which turned out to be a portion that would just about fees my 7 year old. The fish was gone on 3 bites. This cost £12.95. £6.95 kids portion would have been more appropriate. I didn’t want to complain but I perhaps should have said something at the time. This wouldn’t put us off coming again as it is a lovely setting with plenty of outside space.

Great Sunday roast, not the cheapest but certainly one of the best. Beautiful fresh veg, great med cooked beef, plenty of gravy, got more when I asked. Lovely location, right on the river

This is a lovely rural pub. We walked from Tewkesbury along the banks of the river Avon. Friendly professional staff and excellent food. Nice beer also. I would recommend a visit.

Having eaten here last night, i can only say that the food, and service were absolutely exceptional. The place is spotlessly clean, bright and airy, the atmosphere warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. We were were immediately welcomed and shown to our table and asked for our drinks order, whilst looking at the menu. The food itself was as good as you will find anywhere, i really can't fault it....

Very nice vegan lunch - comfortable pub with attentive staff , very nice location. Slightly marred by too many noisy children. Imaginative, well presented tasty vegan options.

Had great memories of this place, things move on. Not very busy but it was a Thursday, prices are towards the top end for drinks but the food was spot on, and great service. Definitely not like the old days but nice to visit.

We went as a group of 12 they took the order with no fuss and delivered it promptly. All the food was hot, tasty and well presented. The only down side was the vegetarian options were very limited and one of those was off the menu. The staff both serving and behind the bar were young keen, extremely polite and helpful a real credit to the pub. It is the third time we have visited and evert time it has been the same. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend eating here.

Third time we have stayed at the Fleet/Boathouse rooms and again a thoroughly enjoyable visit. The room was again warm, clean and really comfortable with those stunning views over the Avon. Food at the Fleet, both evening meal and breakfast was fantastic and priced just right with some good offers via their Butcombe App..The staff really help make this inn stand out above the rest by a long way and especially Ryan who is always very friendly and attentive.Trying to find another excuse to travel the 400 mile round trip to visit again!Thank you.

This is our second visit and will not be our last. The Fleet Inn is located alongside the River Avon and the rooms have wonderful views across the river towards the east. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet and the food is exceptional. What sets it apart are the staff, who are uniquely friendly and helpful, making both our visits memorable.

I have frequented The Fleet intermittently over the years, as my family have good friends that live in the village of Twyning. The place has exchanged ownership several times during this duration and, as such, my review will pertain to my experience this past weekend. The Fleet is situated fantastically on the River Avon, with a great view of the plains. The restaurant itself is incredibly well presented with the interior and facilities being very clean and well-maintained.The food was as good as it has ever been. We partook of a series of roasts which were excellently cooked, flavoursome, well presented and respectfully sized portions. However, the service was disappointingly mediocre and did not compliment the food in the way it should have. It took us half an hour from arrival to receive our drinks and we had to chase a member of staff to come take our order. We ordered a bottle of water for the table, which was brought with the other drinks and were asked if we required additional glasses for this, which we said yes. Again, we had to chase a member of staff to remind them to bring aforementioned glasses as this took a further 10 minutes. Additionally, when the drinks were brought my wife's beverage was not amongst the order and we had to chase this with the servers. Furthermore, we were not asked if we wanted another round of drinks when the first round was consumed as...no one came round to take an order and we had to chase with the team, again! We finished dinner and were debating on dessert. It took a further twenty minutes after completion of dinner to be asked if we wanted dessert, all the while our plates were just sat there. Desserts were ordered, which, like most of the food, arrived very promptly, and to a high standard, but one of the desserts did not materialise. In the end we gave up on it and went to pay for our meals (having to request the missing dessert be removed from the bill as we would otherwise have been charged for it). It's such a disappointment that the service, at least from this experience (and the feedback also discussed with other locals), is that the servers are more interested in chatting amongst themselves than really being "on it". We twice had to ask a server what the vegetarian roast option was because after the first time (you guessed it) the member of staff did not return. The second server had to go ask in the kitchen what it was (they actually didn't even have a vegetarian roast-option). On a Sunday the only thing the servers surely need to remember is what the vegetarian special is, as this must be the only thing different to their normal menu. It cannot be hard to drive this into the team before service. It would indicate that while the kitchen team are clearly capable and competent that there is an underlying issue with the front of house team not being correctly motivated and managed and would kindly suggest that the front-of-house manager use this feedback as a tool to reinforce expected standards.
