A nice almost country pub with a view that does decent food. Accommodation is very basic and tired but the price reflects this.

Mediocre hotel and food. Sad and tired looking place. Rooms although clean a little soleless. Pillows very hard and uncomfortable, mattress good though. Window, misted as double glazing seal shot. Evidently lacking in staff, only 2 of which were super friendly.we usually go to the Royal George, same group, felt like we would have a change of scenery.......wish we had gone back there.😞

Not the best meal for us . Payed good money for it. For us average at best . The plate of food look like yesterday leftovers . The steak unseasoned mash not nice . Onion rings undercooked . Tasted like frozen ones. Veg just thrown on the plate. The saving grace was the staff.

Loved this hotel. Rooms basic but comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and evening meal in restaurant was outstanding. The manager in the restaurant was extremely helpful and very chatty. Will definitely stay there again. Lovely views too.

My mother in law booked a room to stay for a week and had the best view ever! She was really chuffed. Lovely room, comfy bed with a bath in the bathroom.Perfect for a week stay and right on a bus route. Definitely go for a room with a view of the town if you stay here. Food was usual for Greene king. Drink was good. This is a lovely pub and my first visit. I would like to come back in the summer I bet its stunning on a summers evening for sunsets. I'll look forward to my gin here in the summer

Good, quick service from friendly staff. The scotch egg is a must try. Good selection of food and drinks from both big breweries and small local ones.

We were there last night with friends and had a wonderful meal. Service was slow to start with but it is the same everywhere. Once the young waiter came to attend us, we couldn't fault the excellent service! He was very attentive, courteous and always smiling! He is a credit to the establishment! We will certainly be back again. The food was very good. Wine was at a reasonable price. Happy to report that one of our favourite restaurants is as good as ever!
