EDIT: We order approx once a month from saffron lounge. I never complain and they are consistently great. My wife mistakenly ordered from the spice lodge takeaway in bishops cleeve this evening. I thought she had ordered from saffron. The food was the worst curry/rice/naan I have ever purchased. I called saffron and gave them an earful. I was very embarrassed/apologetic when my wife told me she accidentally ordered from spice lodge.Moral of the story: don't use spice lodge, use saffron.Have eaten in restaurant and takeaway. Have never been disappointed. The only good quality curry house to deliver to winchcombe also. Lady on phone has fantastic manner. Great stuff. Looking forward to my delivery tonight!

Had a meal delivered recently and very disappointed. Half an late and the food was cold . I have been using this establishment for many years and normally a very good service and quality food.

First time I’ve ordered from here and it was great, chicken madras and naan bread were amazing! delivered quickly too

Good value for money food, restaurant could do with being updated

This place was phenomenal, ordered a lot of food and it all came quickly. It was very good service and the food was incredible.

One to miss if you like Indian food with genuine flavours. On a positive note the service was quick, the food delivered hot and the nan breads were delicious. The vegetable sides of tarka dal and sag aloo were also nice.Sadly though the rest of the food really wasn’t very nice. We ordered a lamb Rogan Josh (oily, no real spice or flavour), a chicken passander (we have probably had over 100 of these and it has never looked like that. More tomato pasta sauce than curry. No spice, not a nice flavour, not creamy and the chicken felt cheap), and a lambs kofta curry which was inedible (curdled sauce, dry kofta and tasteless generally).

When your dealing with takeaway the one thing that is most important is making sure that the order is full and complete, I spent £97 on Saturday night and the order was far from complete. The problem is if you ring and complain it’s too late, by the time you drive all the way back to collect what’s missing the evening is ruined. The Saffron lounge was busy but clearly struggling to cope with the volume. I had already had to drive back once as I hadn’t been given my complete order and then to get home and find items still missing was beyond poor. The food was average at best so over all we were left disappointed. In the current climate you need to have your business on point and paying attention to the detail. Perhaps a bit less quantity and attention to the quality of both the food and the service wouldn’t go a miss, I’m not interested in getting free food in the future as we won’t be returning. I work in a customer service environment and its vital to remember that you may have 50 orders but each one is individual and you must check and then check again. Once the customer leaves it’s too late. I wish you well Saffron Lounge and hope that you take these comments on board and make the very needed adjustments to ensure that your future customers are not left hungry like we were.

The food was cold. We orderd popadoms and the sauces/spice dips arrived with no popadoms. The tandoori chicken chilli and garlic was as dry as cardboard. The lemon rice had no lemon. Pillaue rice had no taste at all. The cucumber rieta had hardly any cucumber and was warm. The naan was so dry it didn't bend. The manager was so rude when we talked to him regarding our concerns and said he didn't care if we put a bad review. When we had the popadoms and another dish delivered 45 minutes after the first order, it was cold so we sent it back. I am still waiting for a £11.25 refund! NEVER AGAIN!

We enjoyed the mixed starters but the butter chicken main was almost inedible because of the amount of salt and the pasanda tasted like a pasta sauce with the amount of red wine in it. The price was quite high in comparison to other Indian takeaways.

Probably one of the worst curries I’ve ever eaten. It tasted like tomato, it didn’t even have any spices or flavour. Very bland indeed. As it was a delivery, I couldn’t exactly send it back. If I was dining in the restaurant I most certainly would have. The only part of the meal that was enjoyable was the Naan bread which was excellent. I could have had a better tasting curry with a £1 cook in sauce from the local supermarket. After spending £28 I’m afraid I won’t be ordering again which is a shame as the restaurant has had good reviews.
