Very unpleasant and upsetting experience with the manager who said I was rude and abusive, ( I wasn't at all) when I said I didn't need to hear her excuses/reasons for not allowing dogs in.......and I just wanted coffee and cake please. She asked me to leave and threatened to call the police! Quite extraordinary and very upsetting!

Essential stop for breakfast/brunch/lunch before a glorious steam train journey through the Cotswolds.

Be aware that VAT is added to the advertised prices ie Magnum ice cream priced at £2.60, I was charged £3.12, when I queried it I was told the price is plus VAT due to their overheads and I thought VAT was paid to the treasury!! If you decide to purchase any food there check prices before you pay or better still catch the train to Winchcombe who only charge the advertised price.

Nice cafe. We had beans and cheese on a jacket potato with salad which was nice, good portion! However latte wasn't very nice, my wife couldn't drink it.

·

Really nice cafe with friendly staff. Food was good and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating

First time visit to this place after a recommendation from a friend. The main tarmac entrance has been cordoned off so you come off the road and onto an area of packed gravel. Not bad on 4 wheels but cyclists and motorcyclists have to be bit careful.Nice big car park and I believe it is free to park here. Noticed a lot of people park and catch the lovely steam train to the Cheltenham races dressed up in their best togs. What a splendid idea and way to get to the races. The cafe is opposite the train line and we got a nice friendly warm welcome. Breakfast finishes at 11am but the staff were happy to accommodate us and cooked us breakfast even though we were about an hour late ( sorry )I had the veggie breakfast. Which was fine but the gastro style veggie sausages were not very nice and over cooked and after 1 bite I didn't eat anymore / even my friend who had the same left his. I asked for the fried slice to be exchanged for toast ( was told it would be ) but I ended up with a fried slice so didn't eat it. Meaning couple of main items on my meal I left ( hence the 3 Stars )There is plenty of seating inside ( screens between tables to maintain social Distance ) and outside on wooden tables. Toilets on site which are free and were nice and clean. A small kids play area round the back and a lovely little place to explore and watch the the steam trains coming and going.I'd visit again but be more selective on my meal to make sure what I got was edible but overall def worth a visit if your in the area.

In toddington gwsr. Loved it!! Lynne made the day very special for my friend. We were celebrating a birthday. Had a lovely delightful afternoon tea. The other passengers were very nice and sang along.

Only popped in for a take away tea and coffee but it was a quick service and seemed to have some good cakes on offer, although we did go around 3pm ish so wasn't all that much on offer but based on a sign they seem to make a lot of things to order.

We were recently down in the Cotwolds for our honeymoon and had been given a voucher for afternoon tea at the Flag & Whistle. We arrived a bit early but were seated immediately and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They had even warmed the scones for us! We had a lovely afternoon tea - all the food was freshly prepared - and would definitely return.

Terrible service, pre ordered ahead of time on their suggestion to make sure we had time to eat in the gap for the train. Took over 35 minutes to arrive, mine was over cooked and tasteless. No cutlery provided, had to ask for it multiple times, by the time we got any a 4 year old only had 10 minutes to eat lunch. I couldn’t eat more than a third of mine as it was so unpleasant.
