The Hare & Hounds in Tewkesbury

We had the most wonderful stay here - the hotel is faultless. Our room was beautiful, quiet, with a stunning bathroom and lovely products that make you feel pampered. It's the definition of dog friendly - everything has been thought of, down to the dog wash area for muddy paws! The staff were all so kind and welcoming, to us and our dog. Food and drink also delicious! Like I said, cannot fault it, and we can't wait to visit again.

Visited here for afternoon tea recently. Lovely setting, beautiful hotel and a lovely atmosphere. The afternoon tea itself was not quite to the same standard. A beef sandwich and a salmon sandwich each, and another that wasn’t very pleasant and seemed like fish paste but I’m still unsure to this day. Three cakes and a scone each seemed to throw the balance too much towards sweet things. A few more savoury options would have been preferable.Would highly recommend visiting here but would suggest going for a meal rather than afternoon tea.

A very disappointing experience. We visited here about 6 years ago and really enjoyed the tasting menu. Since being taken over by Fuller's it seems the food quality has plummeted; the tasting menu is long gone as is the care and attention to detail. We won't be returning.

Really excellent Christmas package stay at the Hare & Hounds. Staff & service were wonderful even though staff shortages created internal problems for the management no indication of this was shown to us as guests. A lovely location and very dog friendly - even a sausage for our dog each morning at breakfast which was hard to live up to when we got home!

Wonderful location, nicely equipped rooms, good food, and very friendly staff. Dog friendly which was fantastic, although the dog walking paths are mainly unpaved so have walking shoes on if it's rainy.

Perfect location for a visit to the arboretum. Rooms a little tired if you look but certainly nothing terrible. WiFi signal not great. Food was wonderful and staff really looked after us well.

I didn’t stay but ate there and had the single finest, juiciest most flavoursome steak of my life. Literally no other steak has come close to the point that if I returned, I wouldn’t have it again incase it was a fluke. I wouldnt want to rusk undermining the memory which has only grown in the last week. My only advice.. go for rare.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and pillows made for excellent sleep. Large bathrooms with Molton Brown bathroom products, which we love! Great breakfast too. All in all a great stay and experience. We will be back

The welcome here and general behaviour/interaction of the staff was second to none. We were attending a wedding and were given early access to our rooms so that we could change and get ready. Additionally, the staff were able to provide an extra bed for us. Everything they did was done with a smile and they were always ready to help. Breakfast was excellent too. Highly recommend

Really nice hotel with large super clean and tidy rooms. Some are in separate outbuildings on multiple floors. So if you have a problem with this make sure you ask. Staff helpful and friendly. Restaurant had a lovely period deco and the cuisine was very good. It is pet friendly and has extensive ground to make use of. We would definitely stay here again.
