The Royal Hop Pole in Tewkesbury

Very quirky, but fabulous place. The cost for food and B&B unsurpassed. Massive portions, the fruit bowl breakfast was amazing and cheaper than buying it from tesco!

The Royal Hop Pole is without doubt the best pub in the centre of Tewkesbury. The beer garden is fantastic, the service was excellent, the rooms were lovely and great value for the money. I would definitely recommend this pub/hotel to anyone visiting Tewkesbury.

What a fabulous place this is!Absolutely stunning place and the staff are incredible.Stayed for three nights for a break in the hotel 😴 and I only live a couple of miles down the road.The rooms are spotlessly clean and the staff are impeccable.A massive shout out to Nicola on the bar, the service from her was exemplary especially, totally professional and efficient.Just about to book for next weekend 😌100% recommended.

Only stopped overnight to break a long journey up.The hotel part certainly made for a great night's rest. Our room was spacious, with everything you need (eg how many hotels have an ironing board, iron and hairdryer etc in every room). The bed as is normal in every "Spoons" hotel is comfortable, there's plenty of tea/coffee and more available if needed. And the room as usual was immaculately clean.All that for £80 on a Saturday night in a town centre hotel, what's not to like?

Last stayed here in September 2015.I had a choice of rooms from the beautiful and helpful Shannon and chose the attic, 301The room was quite cold and was given the option to swap. I didn't and opted for an extra quilt. A little bit noisy around 6am with the traffic.The bar area is impressive with open fireplace (no fire) and nice wood panelling.I had an ale: Capability Brown served by the cheerful Tilly.Shannon who was on reception Sunday late afternoon (6.02.22) and Tilly are a credit to the company

A surprising Weatherspoons.. full of history and traditional ambiance... a lovely open inglenook fireplace.. the food was of good standard, and as always the prices are low.. I stayed in the hotel my room was amazing with a nice view towards the river..

My first 5* Spoons, as that is normally reserved for exceptional family owned pubs 👍🏼A lovely old building, done up really nicely, with all the usual Spoons details.Hotel room clean and comfortable, with a great view out across the Avon and Severn rivers towards Malvern Hills.A good range of reasonably priced real ales and 3 of Natalie's favourite ciders on draught 😀Why 5*? The crew were wonderful, all helpful, friendly and efficient, I don't think I've ever felt better looked after in a pub.

Good service, friendly staff, great range of beers, lagers and ciders.Menu extensive and good value for money.Cosy surroundings with ample space for wheelchairs.Toilets clean and disabled toilet very accessible.Would certainly recommend.

Nice spacious pub for good value lunch. Service at the bar was efficient and our food was served promptly. Just a pity that I had to get my knife changed as it had previous food stuck on it. Nevertheless it was changed quickly with an apology.

Nice and reasonably priced pub. The food isn’t the greatest but pretty okay, belongs to the Wetherspoons pub chain and also has hotel rooms.The coolest thing about it is the old/antique style the building has been kept in, truly a place to come and visit. It is famous for being mentioned in Charles Dickens' «The Pickwick Papers».Covid restrictions are followed and there’s a lot of space between tables and to feel safe.
