The White Hart Inn in Tewkesbury

Stopped here for coffees and cold drinks on a hot Cotswold Way walk. We sat outdoors as we had our dog with us. Service was friendly and prompt. Coffees excellent. We were asked if our dog wanted a water bowl :) how kind

Booked in for 2 nights but decided to leave after 1. We stayed in room 8 which on first looked OK. But when you looked closer the room was very dirty, dust everywhere and the bathroom was horrid the shower head was awful and the seals all coming away. Also the room is above the bar and very noisy until very late. We ate in the restaurant which was excellent but the staff all lacked any personality until breakfast were we were actually greated by somebody friendly.

A friend and I stayed at the White Hart overnight on the 31st May as we were attending a wedding in the area.From start to finish the whole experience was perfect from booking the accommodation until check out the following day.The rooms are clean and more than adequate with comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities and the room we had also had a good size en-suite with shower over a full size bath.We ate both lunch and breakfast at the hotel and both meals were of very good quality and served with a smile.And this leads me to the best part of our stay, the staff, without exception they were all extremely helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble all were happy to help whatever the request.

Pros: lovely old building with great garden in the back,the rooms are charming and we loved the decor, and the breakfast was hearty and had choices. The cons are: the internet kept going out (4 times in about 2 hours) and it was very noisy because of the restaurant and the kitchen machinery (the fridge? a pump?) so it was hard to sleep.

I can't comment on the rooms but the review wouldn't allow me to skip that part.Yesterday we stopped in here for lunch before Sudeley Castle visit.It was a friendly atmosphere, delicious food and really nice people who worked there.I had the fish finger ciabatta and my god mother had a ham and tomato one.Certainly was a great place to enjoy my final day before I have to leave to go back to Scotland.

The man at the desk wasn't friendly at all, very indifferent , didn't tell you anything when we arrived after a day of hiking. Our suitcases didn't arrived on time and we didn't get any explanation. The staff in the restaurant was super. Rooms were old fashioned and not clean. Not worth a single dime...

Probably the best place to stay in Winchcombe. Has a beer garden to relax and enjoy a drink. Comfortable room, great food and all the staff are very friendly, helpful and provide good service.

This pub has a nice location and sunny garden area, so we sat down for a drink in the garden after a walk around Winchcombe just after 5 pm, there were menus on every table. However, when I requested a two bowls of chips with our drinks, the barmaid deferred to the bar manager, "Are we serving chips outside right now?", without acknowledging my presence or making eye contact despite being stood across from me, he said "No...". No explanation was offered, no invitation to sit indoors, just a brief exchange between the two staff, and the expectance that because I was within earshot I got the message. I fail to see the difference between indoors and outdoors for what should be the most simple order in a quiet establishment. It's also misleading to leave menus on your tables if you're not serving food. It would have been a perfectly pleasant experience, but being dismissed in this way having been lead to believe food was available and having told my son I would get him some, has left me with a negative impression.

Cosy ambience and atmosphere enhanced by the friendliness of the staff.We had the Chateaubriand, on the steak night deal which was superb and compared very well against places such as Gaucho's. No hesitation in recommending the food and overall experience.

Possibly the worst service I have ever received. All the foh staff literally ignoring you if you asked a question, no acknowledgement that they heard you. Only one person seemed to be able to take orders and he had the personality of a fish, no smiles no happiness. Had to go up to the bar 2 times to order drinks and still they took 5 mins to come over. Only saving grace was the food was delightful. Staff need an education on hospitality
