Anchorage Hotel in Torbay

Staff were so friendly with German efficiency. The Xmas party was fab and such a great breakfast. Excellent value for money. Role on next year. Thank you guys

A Turkey and Tinsel break. Hotel decked lovely for Christmas and very welcoming. The restaurant is where anyone I spoke to off our coach felt let down. Any hotel I have been to in the last 12 months it has been table service due to people moving about and handling the serving cutlery. Just 2 vegetables and a potato of some sort. No mustard or cranberry sause with Xmas meal. The coffee and hotwater machines were not working most days. The biggest let down was our final night which should have been New Year's eve, no music, no entertainment different staff gave different excuses. So a big let down. No review paper to fill in so this is why I am doing my review on line.I came to this hotel 8 years ago and it was brilliant. Sorry to say that is not my opinion now.So

The Ancourage Hotel is an amazing place to visit, I go a couple times a week. The food is amazing and everyone must try the coffee and cake deal. It's very relaxing and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is as well presented as it can be without costly renovation work taking place. It would've been fabulous a long time ago but visiting the hotel now, parts of the hallway have an uncomfortably damp smell to them and the floor in our room was particularly creaky, which would've probably annoyed the guests in the room beneath us. While the room itself was OK, the bed wasn't appropriate for tall people like me. However, the reception, bar and restaurant were classy and the breakfast was particularly good.

Only stayed one B&B with a dog. Very friendly staff through out our stay. We stayed in room 27 very convenient for taking dog for walk. Very clean with usual tea and coffee. Bed we found a bit uncomfortable it very lumpy and leaned to one side. A bit on the cold side in the evening and no way off heating. Breakfast was very good Cereal, Porridge and Full cooked breakfast. Personally and (this all it is as breakfast was great), cold meat and cheese with some melon.Would we stay again Most certainly would.

Hi just to say, thank you for a lovely stay.we were in room 27.the only thing was the mattress lumpy and cold.it was so clean.this was the first time we have been away. it was so clean.what can one say about breakfast i did not come out hungry. we will be back.thank you once again.

We chose The Anchorage as it offered good value and was dog friendly. We received such a warm welcome from the young lady on reception and our Staffy got an even warmer one! The Family room, although basic I could not fault for cleanliness, the double bed was one of the most comfy I've ever slept in. The only place Doggies were now allowed was the dining room you could eat and drink in the bar area though which was right next door and had plenty of tables. We only really used our bedroom for our stay, although did meet some friends and had a cream tea in their gardens which was lovely. They offer a help yourself breakfast which we tried once and is good value for money however no veggie option for the cooked breakfast and the croissants were poor, cheap prepacked supermarket ones! My teenage son was brave enough to have a dip in the outdoor pool, although heated still pretty cold! if you're just after a basic place to stay that offers good value for money then I'd recommend the Anchorage.

Stayed here with GB tours. We had a great time. On arrival found a few things missing, eg soap and towels, but rectified immediately.Staff were lovely, decent food both evening meal and breakfast. Drinks machine malfunctioned after a day or two and the toaster was very slow, but apart from those little niggles, everything else was fine. Didn't use the pool, so can't comment on that, but did sit in the lovely garden and use the bar. A short walk to the promenade at babbacombe.

The hotel room was dirty thick dust on headboard, towels were stained, bath panel was hanging off, bedside table had bad staines over it. Chesterdrawers was dirty not cleaned. I have complained to reception they sent up house cleaning but truely not worth £114.00 I had paid. There is a smell of damp in hotel. I will never return sorry but it's that bad.
