Always dubious about pub chains but this one was fabulous. My wife and sister in law had scampi, mushy peas and skin on chips which tasted fantastic. I ordered a mixed grill worried that the meat would be undercooked/ overcooked but WOW, everything was perfect, tender, flavoursome and spot on.After nearly 50 years of eating out this was the best ever mixed grill I've ever had. The drinks were spot on too.A big thanks to Hayley and the staff. Can't wait to come on holiday to Paignton again and visit The Inn on the Quay.

Reserved a table for 8:30, arrived on time and was shown to my table by one of the waitresses.Sat there for 45 minutes without single member of staff acknowledging my presence, despite at least four different members walking past me and the table next to me receiving their order.Eventually walked back up to the waitress that seated me to ask why my order had been taken only to be told that orders had to be placed at the bar.Perhaps this should be something that's mentioned when seating patrons? Or is that a bit too obvious?

Really nice location with Premier Inn next door, and Goodrington beach just outside. Decor and layout is excellent, staff are very welcoming and helpful. Food is of good quality and reasonably priced, a bonus scheme is in place which gets you a free main course on your birthday when you sign up for free.

I don’t know if we went on a bad day or whether it has really gone downhill drastically since last summer. So much food and drink out of stock it was unreal , so we opted for a cavery! As soon as I approached the counter I wanted to go home, beef so dry it was grey, gammon all gone but the dirty hot plate covered in dry rubbery bits still there, Turkey was basically nearly at the bone and dry but they were still trying to cut bits off it! The veg section was even worse , the instant mash was still powder in the centre , the parsnips were dry burnt and at the last few left over bits, Brussels looked like slop but were actually still hard! Food spillage all over the floor in front of it which could of been such a hazard for those who hadn’t seen it(hard to miss though to be fair). There was no excuse , it was 4pm Sunday so quiet and enough staff on to clean up, or top up the food, if they had started to run out of carvery I’d of stopped serving it before it got to the sorry state it was in. If you can’t supply a proper carvery by 4pm reduce your serving time cus no one is going to want or enjoy left overs. We used to visit frequently and even in the summer months when it was really busy we got served much better quality. It was beyond poor. No Stella no Guinness, 5 puddings out of stock

Chicken has changed!!!! The smothered chicken was my favourite but what they survive you here who knows its certainly not Chicken! Maybe a budget version? I probably expect a road kill seagull left on the side of the road for 3 days would have tasted better cooked. Slime smothered Chicken it should be called i would definitely avoid the chicken menu. On the plus side staff are lovely

Was so impressed with this restaurant compared to some of the other Brewers Fayres I've been too. The restaurant was so clean and had a lovely feeling about it even though it was Saturday evening. It was almost full when we were there bit the service was still quick and staff so friendly and helpful! Food was so well cooked. Had a root vegetable Christmas Dinner and everything was so well cooked. Very impressed and satisfying visit.

Hi excellent location, friendly place. You can even charge your electric car. Very handy for a quick dip in the sandy Goodrington beach.

I really don't understand how the food is highly rated, maybe the staff are concocting reviews, maybe the 'chef' was having a bad day.I orderd the mac and cheese burger, supposedly 2 x 4oz burgers. What I got was 2 x 2oz burgers that were cooked to within an inch of theirs lives, a sliver of bacon, some scrapings of dry mac and cheese, maybe a spoonful, that was very bland, some wilted lettuce leaf and a few tepid fries.Honestly, I was so hungry after 8 hours of driving that I just needed to eat something.

Been there three times in the last few days, but only are twice.First time we happened upon the place while looking for somewhere to eat, about 8pm. Ordered three adult meals and a kids meal - but the kids meal turned out to be incomplete (no corn on the cobs, part of the meal and no explanation) and we didn't notice until after we left. The following evening we turned up earlier, around 7:30pm, got a table easily enough (there were several to be had) but we were told we could not order, there was an hour wait for food and the kitchen was closed!Tonight, having exhausted other options, we turned up, found a table, queued to order (about 15 minutes), were warned there would be a wait but the food turned up within 20 minutes. Everything was fine, other than the occasional passing moan that there was a 30 minute wait for ordered drinks to be delivered, although my Mac'n'cheese Burger was a rather strange combination that, I felt, didn't really work. My son loved his Vegan Sloppy Joe Burger which, he said, was exactly like a normal meat burger.
