Very nice place, staff very friendly cream tea was lovely

A fabulous gem on the front of Torquay, hidden amongst other larger and more prominent similar businesses. Ignore the rest and go straight here, the food is incredible, the staff extremely friendly and approachable and you couldn't ask for any more. From cream tea to pulled brisket bap the food takes some beating and the cakes on offer are irresistible.

Friendly service. Unfortunately, the products are not homemade. At least the cream tea could have been made a bit better. The place is no longer in the middle of the tourist flow, so it's a bit quieter. The seats on the street suffer a bit from the noisy souped-up cars and motorbikes.

Lovely spot with a calm interior and great staff. Loved the mini cream tea and the savoury tea (two cheese scones was a real bonus!)Perfect little place. Thank you

Such a lovely experience. The staff members were very nice and helpful, the peas and mint soup of the day tasted so good, and a flat white to die for. Amazing!

Coffee always delicious, as are the cream teas, (note to manager : please ensure drinks are served accompanied by sugar/sweeteners and spoons, had to ask for sugar which came but then I had to go collect a spoon, also it would be lovely if scones and drinks could be served together, not scones... then tea 20 mins later. simple service issues could be easily resolved, very hit and miss service).

Had a decent cream tea here. Personally, the scones needed a bit more fruit in but overall it was a nice place.

It's 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. It's quiet and peaceful. Located next to the harbour it appears to have been busy but now, it's tranquil. Chinese Sencha, looseleaf tea and cake, what else would you do on a Sunday afternoon?

We stayed in Torquay for 3 days and managed to find Burridges on our last day. We was looking for a traditional cream tea before we headed off back home and we was not disappointed. The scones were so yummy and HUGE! For £6 we got 2 scones with jam and cream and a pot of tea. I also trued the homemade sausage roll which was also full of flavours and the meat was so delicious.

They have the best coffee around in our opinion, better than Costa and Starbucks, and they do whole milk too.Their hot scones with cream and jam are to die for, plus you gets two hot scones, not one! The staff are super nice and very friendly. Also, the toilets are very clean.
