Churston Court in Torbay

Cozy friendly and a very beautiful place to stay I never wanted to leave wish I could of stayed much longer ...

This hotel needs some live and attention to bring it back to what it could be. We were treated very well. We had a good reception when we arrived and nikita, the lady who met us, was very helpful and knowledgable. More.people like her would make the hotel better and brighter.

Hotel very quirky loved it room small not big enough for the four poster bed however due to very noisy other residents not much sleep and no one to inform ordered breakfast for 8.30 didn't receive till 9.20

Really run down, no lunch available, disinterested barman, its a shame, used to be lovely, hopefully the new owners will sort it out..

We stayed at this 12th century Hotel for valentines. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. Loved it and all its character and oldness. If you like modern places then this isn't the place for you. The breakfast was lovely and the lady serving breakfast was also very nice. Will definitely be staying here again

Looks are not everything a really old building with a lot of history, but they accomadated us and went out their way to get a cot for our 6-month-old baby, the staff and food and bed was to die for lovely would reccomend and definately stay again thankyou xxx

Just seen this Hotel onTv's Hotel Inspector.Looks a beautiful historic building.Hoping their Customer Service has improved since the TV Programme aired.Having worked in the Hospitality Industry most of my life the first thing l look for is how clean and presentable everything should be, even down to the Cutlery, and that the Customer Service should be on point.Staff should not be having personal conversations in front of the Patrons. It shows a lack of being aware that they are there to help and assist with their Guests wants and needs.If you want to play the part of running a Hotel, You should be hands on at every step.I have often said that" If You can't be asked to do your job effectively and efficiently, don't bother coming in. Leave and find a job more suitable to your way ofthinking. "When working in the Hospitality Trade, it's like being on Stage. You need to know your role ( job), very well. The Public should see you looking focussed on your responsibilities and pleasing the Customer at all times.Yes there can be difficult Customers, l have met a few, but they can be dealt with in a polite and firm fashion, or even a jovial fashion if need be.

Proper old fashioned pub. Great food at reasonable prices. Do a particularly good carvery on Sundays. Big carpark so easy to park. Is also walkable from Brixham.

The Hotel itself was lovely, lots of history. The ambience was lacking, bar staff very unwelcoming, and front of house lacking completely. Seating very basic, and staff had no interest in your opinion. The food was okay, bigger meat portions would be nicer. I felt sorry for the person serving up the carvery, he had to leave his station to chase up refills whilst a big queue was building up. Co-ordonation between the kitchen and carvery was abysmal at bust time, we had to wait 5 minutes for gravy to arrive, whilst food was going cold. It needs far better managerial staff. They were outside smoking and clearing tables.

A really pleasant place. Full of history.bar staff were good the drinks and the food was reasonably priced the place has a huge potential..
