Cotton Eyed Joe's in Torbay

Gorgeous place and amazing experience. Finished off a 16oz steak that was cooked to perfection and even finished my partners too (he shouldn't have tried to keep up with me). Service was lovely and quick. I would recommend anyone and everyone to give this place a go.

We are buying a place in Torquay so decided to look at some of the local independent food venues.This one came up and we thought 'why not?' So booked online. They got back to us as soon as they opened that day (a Saturday) and confirmed our table and we had an amazing meal. Venue is pretty good too but the service was excellent and our waitress (can't remember her name as she kept us topped up with drinks !) and the team looked after us very well. Definitely worth a visit, even all the way from Essex! Thanks for a great evening guys!

The restaurant looks the business from the outside with an American theme running throughout and some classic rock and pop tunes playing. We hadn’t booked and were lucky to get a table as it was busy. Menu looked good, but I was disappointed to be honest. I ordered the fillet steak, medium, but was done to rare. I also found it to be very expensive for what you got, no side salads or anything on the plate, the coleslaw and sauce were extra, it just didn’t look very appetising to be honest.

My Alcohol Cocktail was a bit weak, my chips were slightly undercooked (a bit raw in the centre) but my Fillet Steak was Sublime ( in fact all our party of 4 were happy!) ..One of those food memories you don't forget.

Busy but pretty good service. The Americana theme is great but the food certainly is not. Side salads with no dressing, steak so tough you could sole boots with it, all the meat glazed with the same BBQ sauce so the ribs and steak tasted of the same bland sweetness. Not worth the money for the ambiance alone.

Amazing restaurant! We came here for my son's 12th birthday and they put balloons on our table for us.Food is amazing we had ribs, fillet steak, burgers. Puddings are gorgeous, my first time having key lime pie and it was delicious.Staff are really friendly and helpful and service is very quick.Fabulous cocktails.All reasonably priced.Cannot fault it and would definitely return.

Really lovely evening, staff went over and above to make our daughter welcome, including her in the ordering and made her feel special. Very thoughtful that they brought her food out first, something very few restaurants think of!Food was good too, although though one rump steak was quite chewy. Would definitely revisit.

We really enjoyed the food here. The ribs were very tasty. 4 stars because of my usual bugbear about when it's time to go...we waited a while for the bill and eventually had to ask for it even though they were close to closing time. It's not a biggie but does detract slightly from an otherwise good place with reasonable prices.

As an American I’m always looking for a bit of him. Smokey Joes atmosphere was brilliant. The decor was great. The staff were very attentive. The portion sizes were spot on. My partner had steak and said it was one of the best he’s had. I had the Mac and cheese and it was lovely.

Amazing food and fantastic service would absolutely recommend this place for steak lovers had the rump steak as unfortunately they were out of fillet but it was so good cannot fault a thing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
