Devon Dumpling in Torbay

We brought one more than our booking was for on a Sunday. Don’t do the same they couldn’t accommodate another meal. We did share our our food out as there was plenty. One big problem was my roast chicken which was pink in the middle. I get it was a busy day but that wasn’t good enough. It was hastily replaced though. In the end food was tasty, room to improve - no doubt staffing as everywhere is an issue. 3 stars because I will return - I know it can be good.

Ordered through Just Eat, the order was accepted and said it would be delivered within the hour. An hour in and the Just Eat status changed to "waiting for driver to be assigned". Another half hour later status was the same. The food hadn't even started to be prepped! I don't know why pubs are on Just Eat if they can't fulfil the orders. I've never been to the pub, it might be great, but I'll never know now as this experience has put me off going.

I VERY MUCH STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ALLFirst time customerI placed a order through Just-eat for very first time for a Sunday roast. CHICKEN.The home delivery service is perfect the chicken was raw showing animal blood and was not roast cooked the veg were beautifully seasoned and delicious.

Book a family meal for 14 of us a couple of weeks back. Pre ordered our meals and we all got our meals at the same time - brilliant idea! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the food was amazing! Coming back in smaller groups soon :)

Went today looking forward to a recommended roast dinner, well was I surprised, no green veg available spuds were hard as rocks looked like it all came out of the scraps as it was payed for as a treat by my daughter I did not want to cause a scene I didn't say a word as I took it back to feed my dogs as that all its fit for. 13.50 for pigs swill will never step foot in there agsin

I always wondered why the Devon Dumpling was called what it is, and now I know; you feel like a right dumpling after you've finished their humongous portion sizes, and also what amazing food it is too. I can honestly say, this is the best roast I've ever had. Such a lovely setting and the staff were really polite, friendly and well spoken. If I could give 10 stars I would. I highly recommend this place. Thank you for such an amazing meal.

We booked here for a birthday lunch on Thursday as we had been before and it was good. It has now changed ownership and although the staff were very polite and helpful the menu was disappointing and not good for gluten free diets. We all had the Hake steak, fillet is the complete side of the fish. This was tasty and nicely presented. The gluten free dessert was a vegan brownie which resembled layers of hard chocolate and was very sweet, nothing like a brownie. We all had coffee from a machine with powdered milk which was weak and stewed. We shall not return until the food improves.

Phoned ahead to book, all good. Good beer on offer, excellent service, excellent food which considering how busy they were, was served promptly. Excellent sized portions. We all had something different except for for two of us having the trio of meats. Steaks cooked to perfection. One was medium rare and one was well done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Devon Dumpling.

Excellent quality food and drinks in a clean friendly local pub atmosphere. Good value for money with friendly helpful and courteous staff. Highly recommended
