Drake's Fish & Chip Restaurant in Torbay

Sorry guys really disappointed.Ordered a small fish, and we'll I've had more fish on a fish finger. Curry sauce, tasteless to.I don't know whether drakes has Been took over in last couple of years, but the quality has gone.

Not very nice chips at all. No award from this customer. Better off going to Hanburys 50 yards away.

First ever visit to this fish and chip shop on 30/12/21. Our usual one was closed, as were most of the others we've been too, so we drove around and found Drakes.Well I was really impressed from start to finish. The shop is completely covid safe and really well thought out with all staff behind enclosed screens, you order through an intercom and are given a buzzer when your order is ready. During the preparation the staff even temperature check your pie to check it had been heated properly - that's never happened anywhere else before, shows they care about the end result and are obviously trained well. And the even better bit was it was the best pie and chips I've tasted, so suffice to say this will be our new chippie of choice. Well done Drakes!

Good quality, fresh food. Simple ordering process amended due to COVID restrictions. Placed order insider and was given buzzer to notify us once order was ready to collect, as minimal waiting area inside takeaway section.

Staying locally on holiday, we ordered our food online - it was a very easy-to-use format. The food was all ready very promptly when we went to collect. It was delicious! And sitting overlooking the sea while eating it just made it a perfect meal.

I used the new drakes fish and chips app to order my collection. Super easy and quick to use, collection was ready on scheduled pick up time. Such an awesome new way to order the best fish and chips in the bay!

Five stars based on my first ever visit to Drakes today and experiencing the kindness and efficiency of the staff. The ladies were cheerful and friendly and had time for everyone, despite being busy. Only the take away section is open for now and they have the system working to a 'T' I was collecting for one of my clients who was very happy with the order. The fish and chips were fresh, well cooked and tasty. Thank you.

Excellent food, best chips I've tasted for a long time! Excellent service, Valerie was very friendly polite and helpful. Very good Covid measures in place, speaker/microphone outside so you don't have to enter into the shop, card payment only (brilliant for me as i rarely carry cash) and a hatch for food to be passed through, food was excellently packaged. Reasonably priced considering the area. Will be returning next time we visit the area

Well eventually I got to try the fish and chips from Drakes. Great young fella took my order.They have some really high quality local competition in Babbacombe.The regular chips come in a separate box and are a lovely taste.The fish in batter looked amazing as did the cod inside.At first I was really enjoying the fish and golden batter but eventually the fish flesh began to fall into small bits making it difficult to eat on the provided fork.The end of the fish consisted of very dry Fish and batter.Resulting in the one seagull nearby getting that bit. For me to not finish fish is rare so I have to score a 4.Putting Drakes behind its completion in my eyes.Still better than anything near where i currently live.
