Fish curry was amazing. Parotta was expensive but very tasty. Thanks for the free papodams. Excellent service with professional staffs. Packaging was good....

Consistency and quality is key with your local Indian Restaurant. We have always found over the years that the food and service is always excellent both when we eat in or takeaway. The Curries are distinctive, well flavoured with a good range of choice. I’d happily recommend the East in the West to anyone visiting Torbay.

If you're looking to experience Indian food that isn't your traditional massala or korma style dish, then this is the place to try it in Paignton. The restaurant serves southern Indian style food, which incorporates (but is not limited to) plenty of seafood or vegetarian options. In the photos are a starter of spiced crusted lamb, and a main of aubergine and peanut curry in a sweet and sour sauce with coconut rice. It's quite easy to see why this restaurant was ranked in The Guardian newspaper's top 50 Indian's in the UK - you will pay slightly more for the experience, but it is certainly worth it.

Onion bhaji microwaved, not crispy, cold and very dry. Lamb in vindaloo very tough, not slow cooked, dry. Spices are right, it just meat quality that is wrong. It's 30th December today. They should expect busy night and should prepare. Very disappointed!

Came here for Friday evening. Easy to book, not so easy to park nearby - we needed to park in a side street and walk. Lovely service from all the waiters and nice ambience. Good choice of a Indian beers including a new IPA.Had pappadums then chicken tikka, house fish dish plus 3 vegetable dishes plus rice and chapatis. All great quality and good size plus excellent taste. We had 2.5 pints of beer and a glass of wineFor 3 people this all came to £85.Overall this is one of th3 best Indian restaurants I have been to, rivalling restaurants in India - fully recommend

Really lovely meal, some of the best Indian Food I have ever eaten. This looks a modest restaurant from the outside but the staff are very nice, freindly and welcoming. Service was great but the food was something else! My son had the mixed grill. He loves food and woks in a restaurant, he said it was fantastic. My other two had a tandoori chicken dish which also was lovely. Jane had the Kerala king prawn curry, she was very impressed and said it was the best ever. I had Lamb shank Vindaloo, it was not as hot as I expected, much more subtle, the boys dipped their nans in and we all agreed, absolutely lovely.

We had a fantastic meal, can not recommend the place enough. Price wasn't to bad about what you would expect for a sit down meal. The menu isn't massive but has everything you would want. Service was great staff fantastic just a great place to eat.

Lovely relaxed ambience and great food. The Monkfish tikka starter was one of the best dishes I have eaten in my life. Simply stunning.

Very quick and helpful service an amazing amount of food I believe one meal would have easily fed both of us and as we couldn't eat it all the staff packed it for us to take away

Outstanding food.Reasonably priced restaurant with arguably the best Indian food I've eaten outside of India.Very covid safe at the moment and fantastic staff. If they've not sold out, get the lamb shank vindaloo. It's spiced properly and not a blow your head off, show off to the lads, kind of dish.
