Hanbury's Famous Fish and Chips in Torbay

The most amazing fish and chips I think I've ever had! Went for the grilled hake which was out of this world, chips fantastic and curry sauce so much tastier than your regular chippie curry sauce.Just a shame that we're only down visiting for the weekend, otherwise it would become my go to takeaway!

Absolutely love your fish and chips. My daughter only eats your scampi. Staff are always friendly even when rushed off their feet. I tend to do home delivery atm as waiting for freshly cooked food in the winter is cold to wait for lol

Went there last night not a big fish and chip fan because it is so fatty/oilybut on reading all the reviews and it was regular cod and chip with mushy peas £5. Lets try it . service reasonably quick 5mins fish delicious chip good taste but the fat/oil from it was soaked through the cardboard box and i could taste it in my mouth all night. Sorry Hanbury nice price but would not have that again if you on charge me half.

Went mid week for fish and chips with the girlfriend. I had haddock and chips and she had cod and chips. The haddock was lovely from one end to the other and the batter was really mice. Chips were cooked perfect along with the fish and the salad side was so tasty. Would definatly go again and use the resteraunt

Simply the best fish in chips anywhere! Last night we had their early bird offer in the restaurant and finished it off with their delicious Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream, absolute quality. They have a huge selection of gin to choose from too. Their fish is coated in a delicious crunchy batter. Nothing is greasy, or stodgy, unlike others. I've also used their great delivery service using their on line platform, it always arrived steaming hot when the driver pulls it out of the insulated bags. The staff are always smiling and friendly. Highly recommend, the only reason I didn't take a photo of the fish and chips was because my head was too focused on eating!!! 😋

I believe I've already done a review as this is our go to and by far the best chippy around.Until a month ago, the restaurant had been closed since the 1st lockdown.We visited today & the quality of the food & service was top rate as ever.What some might not realise is that they change the oil in their friers twice daily so the fried fish and chips always taste "clean" & crisp.Their mushy peas are the best and all items even down to the curry sauce & pickled eggs are great quality.

Fish was nice but the chips were awful.No lemon served with the fish, and when I asked for some lemon wedges I was met with the usual hostile reaction locals give tourists.I was told that lemon is served with fish in the restaurant next door.I love Devon, but this kind of reaction is so boring.No tourists No jobs people. Try to be a little more accommodating

It seemed that most people sitting on the benches overlooking the scenery at Babbacombe were all eating fish n chips from Hanbury. We thought we would give it a try and we could see why they were so popular. Served in an easy to share box, with forks, they really were the tastiest fish and chips you could want. A great thing to eat whilst enjoying the fantastic views over the bay.

We just had 3 regular haddock and chips, and I can honestly say, the haddock was one of best I have ever had. So fresh, cooked perfectly and really tasty. Credit where credit’s due, I never leave reviews but on this occasion I had to. Thank you, I will be back!!! 👍😋

Fantastic fish and chips! Great quality food, good price and a short wait time! Really good quality sausages and in an awesome location! It’s a must!!
