We were lucky enough to come upon this gorgeous pub and even managed to get the perfect table with views across Paignton. We just wanted to have a drink and the staff were really welcoming and seated us quickly! It was so lovely and we intend to definitely return and have a meal next time! Highly recommend for a relaxing escape from all things stressful! Thank you to the staff!! See you soon 😉

Amazing place by the sea with lovely views of the sea. We went in a big group and tried a lot of seafood on their menu. It is one of the best seafood I have had in UK. All the dishes cocktail prawns, smoked mackerel, sea bass were amazing.

Booked this place based on reviews and the views but I was sceptical of the food preparation. I am so happy that I was wrong. Every single dish on the menu was prepared so well. I'm veg and my favourites were veg laksa and camembert. The sea food was very fresh. Smoked mackerel and squid gujon are a must try.

Found this place on our first visit to Paignton. You can either sit outside, inside or have drinks at the terrace. The atmosphere inside is lovely. The food was delicious - great fish and chips, crispy and fresh. The burger was so tender and juicy and the calamari are just perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside The service was okay.

This is a beautiful building and the Christmas decorations were stunning too. I wish we’d had a table with a sea view…..but then again we probably wouldn’t have chatted, just stared at the sea!The staff were friendly and attentive too. My main course of beef short rib was delicious as was the sticky toffee pudding. The only disappointment was the crab tart I had as a starter…..£9 for a teeny tiny tart that was more pastry than crab meat…..at least the tiny size meant I could easily eat pud too!!!!Definitely recommend this place 😊

I booked this for my mother’s birthday. My parents don’t usually enjoy going out for dinner but they were presently surprised with this place!Staff were very professional and polite, and although I’d booked it wasn’t particularly busy. Service was good, as was the food which mainly consisted of 2x fish n chips and 2x hunters chicken. The chicken was excellent, very moist and tasty! All the food was good in fact, definitely the best pub food I’ve had for a while.I’ve always wanted to go here, even when it was the old establishment before it got taken over, but I’m pleased it’s been given a new lease of life as it has started to look run down for a long time - where as now it’s very contemporary yet sympathetically restored as a building. The toilets were very good, all clean etc…. Great view too which you can’t say too often haha.Next time I’d love to sit out on the terrace… will have to wait for Spring maybe!Overall a cracking pub, very good menus and reasonably priced.

Great food, large portions. I have had fresh whole seabream grilled to perfection. Also tried the seafood sharer plate, brilliant and very filling. The dogs are allowed in the bar and made very welcome. Staff are friendly, service us good.

Mixed review. The gentleman meeting and greeting on the door must have been having a bad day, he was unpleasant, didn't smile and didn't fill us with hope for our visit. We had really been looking forward to our meal, had it booked for a fortnight, had wanted to try here for ages. The poor greeting didn't get us off to a good start. He mumbled something at us, had negative body language and made us generally feel like an inconvenience all before we had even sat down (they were not busy and we had booked). I presume he was the manager as was in a paisley print shirt not the stripey uniform.....Orders for drinks were taken quickly, however then our drinks sat at the bar. They sat and sat and sat. Staff walked past them a total of 17 times .... that we counted, many different staff. Newer drinks were taken to other tables before ours. In the end my husband had to ask if they could be passed over. Poor.Food menu choices were good. Food was fast and quality was medium to good. Kids portions are large and were enjoyed. I had fish of the day, it was good but not exceptional for the area.Waiting staff were friendlier than the host.Overall it was OK. We would call in again for a drink, but would go elsewhere for food - there is so much choice in Paignton, Brixham, Totnes ..... you even get a smile and are made to feel welcome.

Perfect pub to grab a spot of lunch in a great location.Nice food, cold beer and staff that are polite and attentive, excellent place to sit outside in the sun and watch the world roll by.Upstairs interior looks fabulous but be careful some of them beans are pretty low! This was definitely the highlight of our day trip to Paignton!
