Lovely hotel. Staff couldn't do more to help. Nice little gym and indoor pool. Breakfast was great also and rooms were very spacious. Only reason I did not give 5 stars, was due to the parking. Although we parked on site, if it was busier I don't think we would have been able to.

A very worn hotel that has seen better days, could do with a total revamp, but in an ideal location. Staff were excellent, informative and very attentive. Food was lovely especially the breakfast, so such a shame the hotel takes the edge away from all the good points.

Lovely hotel that we stayed in following a wedding. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were large with beautiful period furniture in it. Would definitely recommend to friends and family :)

Friendly and attentive staff! We also had a lovely, spacious room - 203. Which has recently been modernised

Excellent StayWe have stayed at the Abbey Sands, many times, although not for a couple of years due to recent restrictions. We returned this week for a short stay and cannot fault our visit. Our room was cleaned to a high standard, very comfy bed and all the comforts you could need from a hotel room, food was well cooked and presented, at all meals. The staff were brilliant, very warm and friendly and made a fuss of our dog, giving treats and cuddles, if we didn't have work commitments we would have looked into extending our reservation. We will definitely be returning in the new year.

Lovely hotel with nice facilities, great pools (indoor and out) and wonderful location. Staff are so helpful and go out of their way to accommodate requests despite working extra hard during the pandemic. My daughter left her favourite pyjamas behind and the hotel posted them back to us! The hotel breakfast and the restaurant is good too. Strongly recommend.

The staff were absolutely fantastic couldn't do enough for us. Food lovely. However, I booked on line, the photos looked beautiful. When we got there it was totally the opposite . A rip off at £800 for 4 nights then we had to pay an extra £10 per night for the car park. It was free parking at the back of the hotel one way in, you couldn't turn the car round, so you had to reverse out. Great for your clutch. Unbelievable. The hotel looked tired, the paint peeling off doors, windows, walls,,all the decor was the same . And we had 3 different types of furniture in our room. It looked second hand and cheep. And I have to day, the cupboard doors were falling off there hinges, bad scuff Mark's on the furniture, just terrible. Not at all like the pictures on line. Loads of people complaining about hidden charges. One couple paid £1,800 for a week stay, it was half board. But they were not told the evening meal had a cap.of just £25 for the 2 of them. Everyone was disappointed. The pool was nice, the pool house again paint peeling off, and the sun bed cushions were filthy. The owners are very greedy, it should be renamed as the dilapidated sands hotel. The poor staff had to put up with the complaints . I felt so sorry for them as they were friendly and did there very best. Not there fault. The greedy owners..

From our arrival to our departure the entire staff made us so very welcome. The food was amazing and yes, the hotel is tired but that certainly didn’t effect our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and if we needed anything replenished it was always dealt with quickly . We will definitely be returning. Thankyou

I love the fact that there is an indoor and outdoor pool that can be used and the hotel rooms are a good size. The pinnacle for me was being provided with a wash flannel in the bathroom, this is the first time I have ever been provided with one and that attention to detail is wonderful. The decor is a tad dated, it isn’t a put off or a problem but it could be updated.
