Las Iguanas Torquay in Torbay

We visited here to celebrate my fiancée’s sister’s birthday. I was fairly impressed with the decor and the ambience. The menu looked exotic and versatile and I was extremely excited to try some of the special dishes during the lunch special, but they were unfortunately out of about 2-3 of the courses I was interested in.I did have the cheeseburger and it wasn’t bad. Not spectacular, but not outright bad either.Our host was very accommodating and helpful and I give him an A plus for his friendly attitude and courteous service.All in all, I’m sure on a different day I might have enjoyed the food more than I did on this particular visit. The inherent recipes in the menu looked very appetizing and I was quite disappointed that I couldn’t get to try them due to a shortage stock, as we were told.Probably a very good place on a good day. This visit was just a little below expectations, so on that note I give it 3 stars.

Sat outside as it was sunny and warm. Outside seating you can only order tapas which wasn't a problem. Tapas was delicious and alot of choice. Honey peri wings had no hear at all so go the next spicy level up. Drinks were delicious - strawberry daiquiri was really sweet! Friendly and polite staff. Just wish they would collect the empty glasses instead of letting your take pile up

If they didn't do 2 for 1 cocktails I would have walked out....... God bless alcahol 🤒

Came here for an early Saturday evening meal. Arrived ‘on spec’ and couldn’t get into a number of places at 7pm. Got in here only in the Tapas bar, which suited us fine. The service was actually quite fast and very pleasant and although the table was sticky, the waiter quickly cleaned it properly for us.We ordered some rose wine and 5 plates of tapas (for 3 people). The wine came in 5 minutes and the tapas in fifteen minutes. The quality of the food was variable - squid was over done, nachos and chicken quesillades really nice.The whole lot including 2 bottles of wine came to £75, so £25 per person for tapas and wine…

Pre booking is advised as it gets busy! We had a lovely meal in here, all nicely done, but they seemed to be short on staff, only 1 bar tender and 2 people serving - our starters had arrived before we even got our drinks they took that long! On the plus side its 2 for 1 on all cocktails all day here.

I had veg enchiladas and curled fries - amazing! Fresh, good seasoned, quite authentic. The space is light and nicely decorated. Service fast and friendly. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to visit again for both good and drinks

Fab evening out! Great food, freshly cooked with fast service. Lovely 2 4 1 cocktails. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended, shame we couldnt go again within the week away but will be back soon to try more on the menu :)

Great meal. Restaurant was very busy but still good service and not rushed. Meal was excellent and all clearly cooked fresh. Would definitely visit again.
