Lloyd Maunder Carvery in Torbay

I love this butchers, it reminds me of being a kid and seeing the butchers window so beautifully set out every day. To be able to go and talk to a butcher and explain what it is that you are looking for is great. The service is first class and the meat is wonderful and at really good prices. Always great food and good chat at a great price.

Went to Brixham branch. Never had such rudeness from a shop assistant. Woman at front doing takeaway food told me to go in. Bearded man in shop told me to leave as he had teo people. Let me tell you how to say it in future.. Sorry, you need to wait outside until these two people leave, my colleague was wrong to tell you to enter.... Not... Go and wait outside, you can't come in.

I chose to shop with Lloyd Maunders because their website states,Andrew, who now owns the Lloyd Maunder Butcher and Deli shops, is the great great grandson of the founder of the company. He continues the tradition of sourcing his meat from local farmers and is delighted to be able to trade with farmers who we have had a long standing relationship spanning through many generations.”So I assumed the produce is therefore "local" which to me means at least in the southwest, imagine my dissappointment to find product of EU/EC on the packaging of the chicken breasts and pork that I received in my meat for a week pack. Back to Morrisons for me.

Good meat, following covid guidelines

I dont buy my meat there but there sausage and bacon baguettes are very tasty and great value for money

Brought two chicken and mushroom pies earlier today. They were cold which was not too upsetting as we took them home and heated them up. When we cut them open we discovered the chicken within was mouldy. It looked like those pies had been there for a week or more. We will definitely not be going back there again. 0/10 not good for lunch.

Just come back from a week in Paignton and found a great place to grab a really good priced take away burger. Tried there filled bagettes too. Well filled and such great value. Shame we don't have them in my local town. Great friendly staff. Thanks.

Good quality with good prices. A nice change to find a high street butcher that cares about the meat they serve to their customers.
