Old Engine House in Torbay

Went in for a light lunch. Had a vegan beyond meat burger and fries.... Was very nice food. We sat outside but the seating inside looked ample but not crowded together. Staff were lovely.

Called here today for a carvery.It was absolutely amazing 👏I had the small and husband had the Medium, both of us couldnt finish what we had.Excellent food, very friendly staff.Well worth a visit!

Ploughman's with no apple no caramelised onion and a lump of beef that was like a flip flop dry and not edible. The cod was so over cooked the batter was dark brown awful sent it back .would not waste my money on this place

3 of us had carvery, and we all agreed that it was very good, meat cooked to perfection, vegetables tasty and the heavy just delicious! The 4th had a burger and couldn't fault it either. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the staff were friendly and cheerful. All round good experience, will definitely go back next time we're in Torquay.

Food was really good, the only reason it's not 5 stars is because the lady serving our food was rude, didn't check back, didn't smile, didn't look like she wanted to be in her job at all.That being said the other members of staff were brilliant. Smiling, helpful and chatty.

Had lunch there today for the first time. Nice ,friendly staff. Excellent carvery and very reasonably priced. Really nice atmosphere.Would recommend to anyone.

Really enjoyed the food, I had carvery (standard) with giant yorkie and pigs in blankets, there was so much food !!Special thanks to Derek who served the carvery and got me some peas to go with it, he was very friendly and made me smile!!

First time visit to this restaurant after family recommendations, found the place a lot larger than imagined. The greeting and covid controls were excellent with table service and escorts to your table. We opted for the carvery and desserts which were reasonably priced and of a great standard. The carvery is plated up for you in detail to your specific requirements which I found good. The staff were very friendly and attentive, free car parking on site.

First time trying this place staff very pleasant, had a carvery very nice only thing service was a bit slow come the end.So didn't wait to order a dessert
