Olive Tapas Style Eatery in Torbay

This is the best meal we have had in a long time! The octopus was phenomenal, the charcuterie book was spectacular, the meatballs incredible…oh and the smoked bread in a bag!! Amazing staff, amazing chef! Thank you 😊

Took my Dad here for his birthday treat. He's Spanish, values a tasty tapas and this terrific restaurant didn't disappoint. The service was warm and friendly from entrance to exit (they remembered I'd mentioned it was the old man's birthday and surprised him with an edible candle for his dessert). The food was amazing. Everything we shared was flavoursome and mouth-wateringly delicious but I'll emphatically recommend the Chorizo/Octopus dish AND the Beef Brisket. Have bored plenty of pals about these dished this past week. Very reasonably prices too. All in all, faultless and Torquay's very lucky to have this place.

We have had the most amazing experience here. Seeing an independent restaurant with 5*, we suspected it would be up there with the best. But this incredible bunch of people are really in a league of their own.From entry to exit the service was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel welcome and relaxed. The recommendations from the team were helpful, and no request was too small for them. The menu (and staff) highlight the allergens in food and the team are more than willing to accommodate any requirements.The food itself was to die for. We have our favourite restaurants for a night out, and if this was closer to Cornwall, it'd take the top spot.You've got a real gem of a business here and we're thrilled to have had the chance to experience it. We'll be back, and we'd recommend that anyone visiting Torquay make sure to visit and enjoy some of the finest food around (just remember to book).

Fab little tapas restaurant in Torquay, arrived for an early dinner, staff were welcoming, restaurant was quiet but had a lovely atmosphere and soon started filling up. The food was amazing, homemade and cooked to order. The beef skewers, belly pork and smokey bread were standouts. If in Torquay don't hestitate to go here!

Sign on door said that they were a little short staffed so we entered expecting a bit of a wait. We were seated immediately by a friendly waitress. The "happy birthday" written on a little chalk board was a nice touch . The waitress explained how it all worked and left us with the menus for a few minutes. We really didn't wait long at all and she was back to take our order. Drinks and starters (Bread and olives) came quickly. The rest of our plates came sporadically as expected, again not really much of a wait at all and the timing felt just right.Out of 6 different items, 5 were great and the other was "ok" (the Aubergine dish which everyone was Ravi g about, we actually didn't think was that special, but that's personal taste and I don't want to put people off trying that).Overall, the service was good, I felt the portions were right, the pricing was about right, there was plenty of variety including vegetarian and vegan options, the only thing that we felt was lacking was the decor. It could do with some pictures, paintings or something to make it feel a little cosier, give it some atmosphere. Had a good meal though, and we will come back again to try some different dishes!

After eating here with a large group of people a couple of years ago, I had been shopping in town and passed it again, by chance at 6.15 I asked if I could have a table, they were obviously going to be very busy soon with x mas parties etc , the way the tables were layed out, however the staff and lovely lady "at front " were so warming and accommodating and found me a table,which I appreciated very much, I assured them I would "eat up" and free up the table. The food here is just the best tapas I have ever had, in my humble opinion, the chef is a genius the staff friendly and helpful, not too much which is important. I would recommend Small World Tapas with a Positive intergalactic menu choice to anyone.Thank you Small World Tapas and Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

First time here and it was good. We went on the first night that they were doing there Christmas menu and they were up front that there may be a few delays or hiccups because it was so new which I really appreciated the honesty of but tbh we didn't really have any issues. Everything we ordered was really tasty, the service was polite yet relaxed and informal which I really liked and the price of our meal for what we had and how full we felt when we left was reasonable. I was happy to pay the bill and leave more than a 10% tip, they definitely deserved it and most importantly, we will be back!. Can't wait to come and try your normal menu when that comes back in the new year. Thanks guys, keep doing your thing.

Amazing service from the moment we stepped in the door! The food at this restaurant was delicious; from the chorizo and olives with bread to the book of meats and croquettes. I loved the food being explained to me and the ambience in the restaurant itself. Highly recommend a visit if going to Torquay; you won't regret it.

What a lovely restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Chef certainly knows his craft. I had the wonderful Red Shrimps in Garlic sauce along with chorizo cooked in honey. Both were cooked to perfection. Followed by the Egg Box. In this is a desert with 5 mystery flavours. I managed to get 2 and a half correct. Sorry no clues, you'll have to try it for yourself!!Recommended, we will definitely be returning.
