Paignton Pier Chippy Co. in Torbay

Service was slow. Chips were average, sausage was ok. I prefer other chip shops on the high street. Overpriced due to the location, by the beach.

Visited this evening (8/7/22), clearly changed hands as myself and my family used to visit this chippy regularly and the food was lovely. But it has fallen massively since changing hands, we ordered cod and chips - the fish was wet rather than light and flaky, the batter was too crispy all over and the chips were tasteless. We ate in and I left half my plate. The staff have all changed as well and need to seriously work on their people skills for such a busy tourist and locals area. The prices have gone up as well which I understand everywhere has but for the fact that it was once served on nice what plates/little dishes, etc. It now gets served on a metal tray :/ I’ve only scored 1 star because I have to. Sorry but it’s the honest truth in my opinion.

Really lovely quality of fish and chips but very pricey. It was a special occasion for 6 people and we paid £83. Nice location though and good service.

Had fish and chips today, unfortunately we were under whelmed. It was expensive for what it was, but was happy to pay the price if it was worth it. Unfortunately we felt it wasn't especially when it said award winning outside. We have had better from elsewhere. It was OK just nothing special

Not very busy, food was delivered quickly. Bit of a small portion for a chippy but none went to waste so maybe not. Really tasty and freshly cooked. I only waited about 5-10 minutes for food which was fine.

Staff were lovely and pleasant enough and the Chips were lovely and didn’t take long but what I can’t accept is £7.50 for large chips , a little tub of gravy and a knock off kids bottle drink to takeaway! So many times after a trip down the beach we would stop and have some chips but I think that’s it. Be surprising to see if these prices hold over the winter months when it’s only locals passing by.

Lush really lovely white fresh fish and light crispy batter. Nice chips too. You must visit. Nice friendly helpful staff. Will be back soon as I can.

Being a big fish & chips lover this resturant did not let us down. Beautiful food, clean and excellent staff.I also liked that they listed where the fish came from & where the potatoes were picked.

So disappointed… used to love this place. The prices where great, portion sizes was amazing but we’ve just had food from here and got home to find out portions are so so small!!! Cost is just over £20 for a kids nuggets and chips, battered sausage and chips and a small chips… the size is awful. Sadly won’t be going back now.

The best chippy in town! Freshly cooked food, huge portions, friendly staff and the most amazing curry sauce ever! Good value for money too, especially on the take-away option. Seating inside a bit awkward, with very little space between the chairs and tables, but you can still find a fairly comfortable corner, and the food makes up for it anyway. Highly recommended!
