My good friend Leslie (aged 89) loves Platters. It's his favourite place for lunch and he took me there when I came to visit him from Swindon. What a lovely place! The food is fresh, for someone currently on a strict diet who can't have much I was so pleased that when asking for a salad they gave me a large plate with thick slices of good quality ham, beetroot, onions, peppers, tomatoes, eggs, lettuce, cucumber and carrot. Leslie always gets his 'usual' including the biggest jacket potato I have ever seen, chips, chilli, coleslaw, salad. We were busy eating for 40 minutes straight! The owners seem to know the customers and quite a few customers know each other, it's that friendly a place and a real compliment to Torquay. The prices are very competitive and the service good.

My teenage daughter and her friend had the platters All day Breakfast bad I had the cottage pie with veg. It was absolutely amazing. The food was really tasty. A lovely atmosphere . We had a lovely lunch together x
