Richard's Fish Cafe in Torbay

We enjoyed it although the stench of Alison Sweatman did put us off.

We should have taken warning from the queues outside the other fish and chip shop over the road. The man and lady in the shop were lovely and so helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the fish and chips were not so lovely. The fish was really thin with thin hard batter although it tasted quite nice. The chips were mainly inedible, hard and dry and not freshly cooked. It's a shame as the people running the shop were so nice and eager to please. They just need to learn how to cook fish and chips properly.

We visited for the first time on Saturday and found all of the staff very friendly, and the food was freshly cooked. We all agreed these were the best fish and chips we had ever had, and we will definitely be coming back.

Excellent fish, batter lovely and crisp. Good chips. Generous portions. Best in the area.

Have used this fish and chip shop for a few years now and has been lovely went there on Saturday and it was awful fish was flat no batter certainly not fresh chips were hard won't be going there again

We used to love Richards. We would do a round trip of 50 miles every Saturday. However, now it has changed hands it was very disappointing, the food was bland at best. Curry sauce was like water, chip portions have got much smaller. We will not be returning. Don't bother go else where.

Richards was our weekly treat every Saturday the best fish and chips ever. But didn't know it has changed hands. Totally disgusting now and gone up in price. Won't be using them again..

Used to love Richards fish n chips !!! A real treat ! We live locally once a week we indulge .... last three visits have been shocking ! Greasie undrained fish ! Portions massively reduced ! Found out Richard is selling up ! Explains a lot !! Avoid for foreseeable

Why is this place not open more. I shop both here and across the road at the London Frier because this shop has only a few opening times. The food is cooked to order so there is always a wait but the quality is always great. The staff are lovely especially Kerry and they work really hard. I only have good things to say about this chip shop near the sea front. The que system needs to be more simple as you wait next to people who are eating their food. Maybe a barrier could be used to stop people from standing next to others eating. But overall good food.

This is the best fish shop in the bay. I called in yesterday, and the meal was 100%. The staff were great, and really helpful.Some of the reviews who run this place down, are over 3 years old, This man didn't own it then.Trust me, You will enjoy your meal here.
