arrived at midday and the restaurant looked empty, went in and were offered any table, within ten minutes of us seating down the place filled up. so good timing. ordered fish of the day (hake) and the fish pie with a glass of wine.the fish pie was filled with mussels, prawns and smoked salmon, a mush topping with some sort of crust, and a side dish of crunchy carrot broccoli and braised shredded cabbage. I enjoyed this meal.the hake was perfectly cooked and more chips than we could eat.

Great fish and chips. Nothing more to say. Fresh, well cooked, full of flavour! Gorgeous. Great service and the restaurant is spotless. If in the area this is a must visit for fish and chips. Curry sauce is gorgeous

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips, amazing staff and amazing curry sauce and garlic mayo. One of the best fish and chips ever. Hake and Cod, my boys both had cod and chips and demolished it. Thank you for an amazing meal and may i add fantastic portions 😊😊😋😋

Just had a fantastic lunch here, great table service and atmosphere, owners were very friendly and happy to chat. Our meal, chowder followed by fresh Hake with mussels was to die for. Thanks for a great lunch.

Fabulous food. Great service. Went twice. First time had seafood after delicious. Second time mussels. Fresh and wonderful. Kind staff to my mum. Would hsve preferred if they all wore masks though as place very busy. Would go back.

I highly recommend anyone to reserve a table a day or two before as it can be extremely busy. If you are lucky, then you may be able to book the same day.Anyhow, all staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was jovial and warm, with the dishes being served fresh. The three of us ordered a selection of starters, with the oysters being so delicious we ordered another plate. For main, we ordered lobster and chips, and some fish of the day (haddock) and chips. It was served piping hot and fresh. You can tell the food is not frozen and is caught the same day.If you love seafood then Simply Fish is for you. Pay a visit, as you will not regret it.

At plaice (!) value, it’s a fish and chop shop with a few extra dishes, but you can’t read a book by it’s cover and the food far surpassed any expectation we had. For the starters I went full on 70s (why not!) with the classic and classy prawn cocktail, the other half went for squid dish which he described as amazing. The mains, being the creative and adventurous sole (!) I am, was fish and chips for me, a perfect combination of crispy batter, melt in the mouth cod, good quality tartar sauce and twice cooked chips. Hubby had a broth (on the specials menu) featuring squid, mussels, scallops and cod and more that he said he’d be happy to eat till he died as it was so good. Go there, eat well, be happy!

Super restaurant. Probably one of the best cod and chips that I have had for years. A really nice place. A bit pricey but you really do get great quality food so why not great yourself. Very attentive staff offering great service. 10% service charge already included in bill. They have a takeaway part too

Booked after seeing how busy the place was and the relatively good reviews.Fairly clean inside l, first waitress was pleasant but she soon disappeared. The menu looked very limited, but a small varied selection. The food come in stages despite asking for it to be all at the same time, it wasn't much, but still upto 5 minutes between first and last plate. The food looked nice, however at no point did any of the windows say or show dogs welcome or friendly, I can understand if there was outside seating available, however to have inside was a little off putting. Even more so that the one closest to us kept shaking his fur and moving about, though generally would stay still, however the smaller black dog was a little needy and begging at the table until some food was put on the floor for him, again not what you would expect in a restaurant. The price seemed quite steep for what was really chipshop takeaway food and service on a plate, with drinks, I don't mind paying for a decent nice meal, but i dont feel that any of the food or service excelled to be that sort of price. And most definitely the table service was not worth of the 10% service charge.Few other bits but not really detrimental to a meal out, the toilets were dirty, no toilet roll and the extractor fan does not look as if it has been cleaned in sometime.

Lived up to my expectations. Saw this restaurant on the tv program Fish Town. Really friendly helpful staff and good was amazing. Good prices as well. Will definitely recommend and return.
