The Crescent Bar and Restaurant in Torbay

Disappointing- would not return!I ordered the Tuna Mayo baguette; I was dining with my parents at the same table, same order but paid separately, it was £8.We were served by a young girl with long red hair; she gave us three tap waters, our knives & forks and some sauces, all loaded onto a tray and even though everyone else had theirs brought to the table, I was left to carry mine.The tables were also dirty and the staff (even when asked) only clean the patch you’re sitting at, they had to be prompted to clean the whole table.My order came much later than my parents food, they had finished by time it did and I watched the couple behind me in the queue get their food first.I had to go to the bar to prompt them that my food was late and when it did finally turn up my portion of chips & coleslaw was much smaller than everyone else’s which I pointed out to same girl that served us and was given a feeble excuse then she quickly disappeared.No apology for my food being late, small portion when it did turn up (the photo makes it look better than it was) and pretty poor service from the girl that served me who was part of a very young, inexperienced team.

Dirty and not well presented table. Service appalling with inexperienced young staff who had little or no information about the menu. We booked for 7.45 pm on a Saturday and apparently the Chef went home at 9 pm and we were still waiting for our desserts ! There was a wedding reception at the same time....the staff looked tired, lacked enthusiasm and motivation. Seriously poor !

Excellent restaurant in the most beautiful building in Torquay.

The solo travelers can wait ages to be served. Staff seem to assume partner will join shortly and to then come to enquire if you wish to order. Person seating a solo travelers/ dinners should remove spare place settings ( or at least side plates, cups or glasses) to signal solo customer. Seem to do it well overseas but UK still lagging behind in hospitality excellence. After long wait my medium steak was over well done and they had run out of my choice of dessert! Near closing time so decided not work bothering further! 'Corner cafe' standards - not **** as they would aspire to be. Lovely location. Try again

What an incredible place to spend an afternoon and evening. Aside from the most perfect views, the food and drink was well priced and the staff very attentive. I WILL be coming back here!

Better now that the place has had a makeover and improved its hygiene Score from 1 star to 4. Attentive staff and the food is good. Not cheap but not eye-wateringly dear either. Fab location.

I can't comment on the food which is served here as I've never had the pleasure of dining here however, I went to grab a coffee on a cold winters day from this restaurant as was gobsmacked at the price of a coffee, the worst thing is that it was a hot drinks machine you would expect to see next to vending machines.

Long wait between courses - waiter thought guinea fowl was a fish course and when this arrived 45 minutes later it was cold now waiting for dessert, it's only been 15 minutes and waiting ...........and then when it arrived it wasn't creme englaise it was powdered custard the crumble was so sweet it was sickly! I certainly wouldn't bother eating here again and I don't think the waiting staff were bothered as no one asked if our meals were ok. When paying the bar person he was surprised we were not happy. The only tip I would give them would be look after your customers better and get organised in the kitchen!

Decent food and drink and not too pricey.
