The Golden Fish in Torbay

Overpriced as hell! Would not recommend!!! No atmosphere. £6 pound for a chicken burger and £5 pound for chicken nugget’s! Prices need to be brought down immediately!!!! Chips are so salty!!! Absolutely diabolical!!!! 0 STARS!!!! 3 £1 drinks worth £5!!!!!! EMBARRASSING!!!!!

Lovely fish n chips other day.did plan to use one round the corner but the waitresses attitude stank door open and then a closed sign on a stand so are you open or shutShut I was told that's what the sign says!So round the corner to golden fish where we were gladly seated and served an excellent fish n chips and a great cup of tea.Excellent experience and maybe these people could educate the other chippy staff on how to smile and look after customers.

We visited Brixham today and found the majority of restaurants/ pups stop serving food at 3pm, until we found the Golden Fish who were open. To the back of the shop there is plenty of seated tables, all spotlessly clean. Our meal was excellent value and piping hot, well worth the money including apple pie and ice cream as a lovely sweet.The owners and staff were very friendly. If your looking for a good quality meal that doesn’t brake the bank then the Golden Fish is for you.

Fantastic fish and chips and very friendly staff. Portions aren't huge but they are ample.

The chips from here are extremely well priced and so, so tasty! The staff are so kind and cannot do enough for you!Also, the chips weren’t doused in salt unlike when we went to Nick’s a few doors down!I would highly recommend this chip shop! They have queues due to the delicious food and service, but it’s worth the wait!

What do I say but I would highly recommend this little gem of a fish and chips shop.....service was very polite and nonintrusive....food was absolutely excellent....I had cod and haddock with chips......fish was a beautiful fresh white colour and very tasty.....the batter was crispy from first mouthful to the last with little to no excess cooking oil that one would find in other fish and chips shops......chips were cooked to perfection....a lovely golden brown with no excess oils....and you DEFINITELY get value for moneyWould DEFINITELY recommend this place when you visit Brixham....every single time..Thank You all at The Golden Fish for excellent food and service

Fish and chips delicious and freshly cooked. My friend's burger was disappointing though. It was the day before lockdown, so maybe understandable.I would happily eat here again.

Great Fish and ChipsWe've often come to this place when we've visited Brixham, you just get great fish and chips at a very good price,Next door was fish and chips for £13+ so having these with peas, some bread and butter plus tea/coffee for £6.95 is great value - I'm sure there are reasons it's £13 nearby but at the end of the day imagine a family of 4 paying £13+ each for lunch, it's all about choice.I'm not sure what people want when they write their reviews, I don't want a wow factor but I want somewhere clean and welcoming, decent Fish, cooked fresh - and I want decent chips.That's what we got and if we come back to Brixham we'll do what we did this time and just go here for our lunch again because we know it's a great choice that's always served us a good lunch.

A good fish and chips place. The fish was fresh chips just ok.Nothing with a wow factor.Place was packed on the pirate festival weekend. We were served quickly though and found a seating space. And friendly staff.The atmosphere was just ok.

An almost non descript front hides great food, well cooked and a friendly service.Seating and tables are nothing to write home about but they are comfortable.Don't be put off by the low prices. I've had two meals here seperated by a year. Both experiences were good to great.Will be returning again soon.
