The Great British Fish and Chip Shop in Torbay

2nd visit and to confirm the fish & chips from this plaice (see what I did there) are utterly delightful! Beautifully cooked.

Lovely place for a meal, affordable too! I had the mini fish and chips for only £4.80 chips were great, fish was lovely and crumbly! Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Visited now a couple of times and it's usually just at the right time of not being too busy. This time we visited jubilee wk end just after the red arrows had performed outside for the air show, we manages to get a table. Only has a small seating area, so more a take out place but perfectly adequate. We always opt for the small portion of fish and chips with a cup of tea and it's just perfect. Fish is perfectly cooked and tasty, chips are lovely and the mushy peas add the extra bit of wow. Also to note and applaud, is that the staff all look very young yet always do great welcoming speedy professional service. They had a rush of people and a queue, but service didn't falter. Keep it up team.

Very good quality battered sausage and chips, a little heavy on the salt, but all was fresh, good quality and friendly staff. Meal mentioned cost £4.70 at time of purchase, a price I'd be exceptionally happy to pay again.

Been here several times, just such good fish and chips, light crisp batter and a good portion of chunky chips.

Had fish and chips there yesterday and was one of the best fish I had ever eaten! The batter was done to perfection and the cod was extremely white. Sometimes fish can be bland but this had so much flavour I had a mini cod and chips for such a reasonable price and great portion!Highly recommended to all my friends and family who visit Torquay!

The Fish and Chips were excellent quality. Fresh substantial plaice cooked in a crispy layer of thin flavoursome batter. The chip quality was outstanding, light fluffy yet not dry. The potatoes are locally sourced as I asked and in my serving there were no bad ones. Really great food all over with helpful and friendly staff - thank you

We ate inside. The cod was good, the fish basket not so much. The chips were perfect. Unfortunately the tartare was awful.
