The Hyde Dendy in Torbay

Absolute rubbish. Had the Sunday carvery, very limited choice, meat very thinly sliced and wasn’t given a lot. Was told I could only have 2 roast potatoes on an adult carvery. One of the kids wanted a bit of each meat and was told they could only have 1 on a kids carvery. Definitely won’t be back. Much better at brewers fayre.

Two stars, purely for the location - lots of space, umbrellas etc. Staff appeared to be a bunch of kids, can't blame them as they obviously have no experience and are trying their best but the beers we ordered were half empty by the time they arrived. Food varied from reasonable to poor. Sandwich bread was stale and chip portion pretty tiny, would have been ok otherwise, but pie of the day was basically an overdone puffed up lid covering half a dish of green beans. Pancakes were thick, rubbery and almost impossible to cut up.Ate here last year and ordered a well done steak which arrived bleeding and almost raw, hoped that was a one off and that's why we returned this year, but sadly no improvement. Nice location for drinks but definitely wouldn't eat there again.

We have eaten a few times at this fab eating house on Paignton sea front and wish we had found it earlier in our holiday break. Excellent food and a warm welcome by all the staff and a big thank you to Fred for checking in more than once to see we were happy with our food. Give this place a go you will not be disappointed. Not only are the main meals great but the sundaes are unbelievable.look forward to returning.Kim and Alan Chester

Lovely food and friendly staff, visit here regularly and always enjoy a pleasant meal in a clean environment. Onions rings are the best around and are so big!! A little soggy this visit but normally spot on

Our one stop destination during our last visit to Paignton. Serves some exceptional food and fabulous dishes which were a welcome treat.You can eat inside or outside.Only negative was, they tried to charge us twice for the same dish, but these things happen.

They were really busy and probably short staffed when we visited and we were waiting 50 mins which is completely fine. However the food we got was horrible. I attached a picture of what meant to be the curry of the day which was korma. No taste and the chicken tasted off and the whole thing was dry. The peas they put on the kids meal was not even warmed up, straight out the can. The burger was ok but everything is overpriced. 2 adult meals and a kids meal without drinks came to just under £30. You can have a decent meal at a lot of other places for that price.

Nice place to go and have a meal. We went on a Sunday for a lovely carvery and even though they were incredibly busy, the staff were friendly and polite. They made sure their customers were aware if there were any waiting times and were very accommodating. The food was lovely and its reasonably priced. Would deffo recommend and will be visiting again soon.

We had the child's portion of veggie roast, large enough for two elders! It was delicious 😋

Stopped off for lunch before getting train back to Kingswear... Sat outside under the large umbrellas, lovely food, great quality, friendly staff and quick service using the app / table service. Would come here again for sure, many thanks!

Best carvery I ever had it was lovely.Would recommend this to all.Staff was very welcoming and three times was asked if the food was ok yes great service.thank you for an enjoyable meal
