The London Fryer in Torbay

I mostly enjoy the food from here, but because of health issues, I would like to have a home delivery , but the amount of food I would have to order before they will allow a home delivery is too much, I don't know why this is the case, as you have to pay extra for the delivery anyway.Bearing in mind the area we are in, where a lot of people live alone, with health conditions, or on a limited income, possibly not placing a order like me, even though they would like to, possibly on a regular basis, all year round.I'm just wondering how much revenue, they are losing because of this decision, I now, only order when I have guests over.

Our go to fish and chips when visiting my parents in Preston. Always cooked fresh. Good portions. Highly recommended.

Fantastic menu and excellent food. Really light batter, succulent cod and perfect chips. All at a very reasonable price of £5 for small cod and chips (reasonable size). Short walk down to the beach to sit on the sea wall and eat them.

I have been coming here for over 30 years; it's been fatastically reliable, but sadly something has changed. I'm not keen in chips that much so generally have a large cod only - last couple of times the 'king cod' has been really small. My wife just has the chips (as does not eat fish) and she has noticed wild variations in portion control. Such a shame as used to be so good. You can see from the photos what I mean.

100% deserving of 5 stars. Fish cooked perfectly. Batter not greasy. Awesome chips. Amazing Value for money. Will use again definitely.

Visited The London Fryer today, and ordered plaice and chips and a portion of scampi, The scampi was as good as its possible to get, the fish was super value I have paid £7-£8 elsewhere for the size of the fish I had here for £4.50. The home made tarter sauce was a good balance to the fried fish. WELL DONE! 5 🌟 🤩 ⭐ 🌠 💫

The London Fryer is a popular take away chippie which also boasts some tables for eaing in. Portions are generous and the batter on the fish is crispy. For me the chips are a bit on the soft side, but that is down to personal taste and I would still recommend them.

If there were more than five stars, I would gladly give them.Perfect food, good value, can dine in or take away, very clean, Covid safe, and FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS which means quality and warmth in everything. I just feel they're our extended family, that's how welcoming they are. Not far from Preston beach. TASTY AND FRESH. Well done. And THANK YOU.

We used to live in Paignton and were regulars at the London Fryer - the best chippy in Torbay! We now live in York but on a trip down paid a visit last night. The food is still excellent with the usual large portions and staff are as welcoming as ever! Roy Abbot is undoubtedly the King of Fish and Chips!! I cannot recommend 'Roys' enough!

The food is great, always my preferred Chippy in Paignton/Preston area by a long shot.One particular member of staff can be quite rude although I'm not sure she means to be, possibly just her way. Aside from her I've always received good service.There is usually places to park on the opposite side of the road if you're going by car, not normally a problem.The chicken nuggets are made from proper breast, not some mashed up rubbish made from offcuts…. They’re tasty!
