The Smugglers Haunt in Torbay

Came here for breakfast, massive selection of food on the continental buffet. Staff were nice. The cooked breakfast brought to our table was good too. Really great value for money too. Kids eat free!

Food was nice for price. You pay for what you get. Slightly disappointed with the cold chicken but everything else food wise was OK.The only thing I will say is service was slow. We waited 20 minutes for waitresses to clear our plates whilst 4 of them stood around the till chatting to each other and one in the kitchen eating off the chefs spares.Wasn't perfect service but would return for cheap and cheerful meal.

Very warm and welcoming staff.They were not overbearing and provided an excellent service. The staff are very accommodating to suggest whats good in the area.The food was fresh and cooked beautifully the wait time was minimal and the quality and quality of the food was great and very well priced.Cleanliness was very good and even the male toilets were very well kept.This has been a wonderful and pleasant experience I would definitely recommend this place and come back in the future.Pictured is the Big Dipper Burger and was delicious!

We did not book in advance and arrived at lunchtime. The pub was practically empty. We had a choice of tables and picked one by the window. The waitress was welcoming, took our order and served us drinks. The food arrived promptly and was as described but the atmosphere and ambiance of the pub was soulless. The decor is tired and needs revamping. It might be more inviting in the evening. We did not stay for coffee or dessert. All in all, a bit disappointing.

Visited this place for breakfast and dinner during one month as i was in business on area.. hard to tell which was the worse experience... in breakfast food came not cooked, raw bacon, uncooked hash browns, cold baked beans and absolutely raw eggs and plate full of water from the food still defrosting on it... food safety is scary. The chef is on his phone, eating and cooking at same time. At dinner needed to be waiting for the food over one hour and its quality is shocking.. the chicken is still defrosting on the plate and most of times had to walk out without eating... at my first night was denied to have dinner even was already paid in advance... the waiter was rude and the place is definitely need of a proper clean. There is spider nets and ..those toilets were nasty... absolutely rubbish

We've been here many times, but this visit was as good as any. My wife and I went with 2 friends and we were all impressed.Staff were really friendly, food was excellent and served in good time without rushing us at all. We shared 2 helpings of Belgian Waffles and they were delicious. As I had a voucher the price was great as well, so we all came away really happy.Well done Smugglers Haunt!

Friendly staff and the usual great Quality food. The only down side, the restaurant really needs a make over, especially the carpets, they really need a clean

Great service! An older lady spotted me and my disabled father as were getting out of the car. She quickly prepared a table and ran to grab the door for us! Our server was very efficient and polite, very good experience!

Came to see family. First ever visit to this particular restaurant. Food was good 👍 service was bleak. Had to wait about half an hour from being seated to get our drinks. As said food was good, service not so much

We visited at lunchtime. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table. The waitress was friendly and polite. When the food arrived it looked appetising and was delicious. Throughout our meal the waitress was attentive, asking whether we were happy with our food, and refilling our soft drinks. We will definitely return!
