TJ's Restaurant in Torbay

The food here is absolutely gorgeous. I only rate it for 4 star for the expense that is almost justified by the care and attention that the chefs pay to the presentation and delightful taste of their food. The aesthetic gives rise to the idea that you may be in a fishery in Greece. With a stunning view of Torbay, the taste of fish and the delicately seasoned chips, you'd be reluctant to go home to the television and a take away.Elegant, simple, charming all around and the staff are absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for you

Beautiful food would 100 % return what a little gem of a place. The duck was melt in the mouth absolutely delicious 😋

The big draw is the view, assuming that you reserve a window or outside table so you can see it. The food is decent enough and in good quantity, but expect to wait an hour for it (this was during Covid so there could have been staffing issues). The menu isn't huge and might be drifting a bit too far towards Michelin guide style for some. Quite stiffly priced, especially given that this isn't that expensive a town. If you're on a budget try the nearby Wetherspoon's.

Stunning food, creatively prepared, using locally sourced ingredients. Had the scallops and lobster, both fantastic, and heard nothing but praise for the dishes other guests were eating. Lovely! Plus the mini desserts were a delight.

What can I say! An absolute diamond of a restaurant. Fantastic food with a beautiful view of the harbour, from the terrace. Booked a late family dinner, for my wife's birthday, so we could we could see the harbour, bay and pier at sunset. Accommodated 5 of us, with ease (booked in advance). Service was great, polite and with a smile. Lobster was beautiful, plaice was divine and the kids loved their seabass and hake. All really fresh and cooked to your preference. I will definitely book again when we are next down their neck of the woods.

Fantastic meal, the Crab gataux and Scallop starters were delicious. Lobster main and Fish of the day was exceptionally tasty especially the sauces.

Nice little place with terrace overlooking the harbour. Service is great, the food even more so - simply fabulous!

Good location and very good food. If the weather is nice you can sit outside. We slipped up as the evening was really nice but we chose to sit inside. Local catch cooked in different styles . I had pollock in the curry fusion which I have to say was delicious. Not the cheapest of places but you get what you pay for !

Friendly service and food is excellent - I would say better than you think if you came across the restaurant when walking by.Great menu and range of options, quality of food was excellent and you can tell they pay close attention to their dishes. Food was fresh and reasonably priced.Would recommend to anyone visiting or passing through Paignton.

Had dinner here a week ago - what a find! We were sat on the terrace with views over the harbour and enjoyed delicious dishes featuring fish of the day. Staff were super friendly and helpful - great attitudes and great, relaxed vibe. Would definitely return and happily eat here many more times!
