OMG! What a treasure chest of culinary pleasure. We loved the store in Instow and this didn’t disappoint either.Loads of gluten and dairy-free options and a vegan hot chocolate too. Fabulous coffee to go as well.If you’re looking for meats, cheeses, bread, olives, ales, wines and more then get down here. It’s a wonderful store with exceptional service. We could have eaten and drank it all! 😂

Lovely selection of very yummy food, ideal for lunch, all hand made. Seating area, small but dog friendly!

Amazing shop, full of lovely unique and fresh food and drink. Always worth a visit every holiday.

Lovely food and coffee, but sadly seems to be run by kids with bad attitudes. Rude and blunt to me and my wife who are very friendly people.

Wow! The Fortnum and Mason of North Devon is in Appledore. Need I say more?!

Excellent supply of quality fresh food. You pay a little bit more, for a little bit more. Nice to have places like this.

We stayed in Appledore for a month and the two outlets of John’s became or go to for groceries. Our favorite finds we’re the dried tomatoes with garlic and olives. They also stock many plant-based basics like milk, high quality pastas and fresh vegetable and not very basic items like cream, hummus, gyozas, soups and a lot more. They stock some amazing Devon honey. My husband liked the pasties, he tried the veggie and the steak ones.

Fabulous store and great outside seating, across the road. Staff polite and kind. Level access. Found having to order in one shop and then go next door to collect order a bit difficult as I walk with a stick. Found hot drink take away cups too hot to handle.

What a wonderful cafe. A lovely, although compact, place to relax and enjoy fresh and excellent homemade food. I chose the cheese toastie which was beyond ordinary, accompanied with a fresh side salad and was most delicious. The fresh coffee and tea was to perfection. Well done to all the staff in this multi award winning cafe.
