Absolutely brilliant food. We ate here on the off chance as we were passing and it was one of the nicest pub meals I've ever had. The portions were brilliant and all the food was lovely. The young waiter was super attentive and polite too! We will come back!

Stayed here with three friends and we were utterly delighted. Wonderful old world atmosphere in a quiet location with an interesting layout. everything was perfect from the service to the accommodation to the food. Excellent range of ales and in top condition. We all agreed that we hit the jackpot and a private car park at the rear was a big bonus.

A beautiful old Inn. My room was clean, warm and the bed was very comfy. Furnishings were beautiful as was my breakfast… it was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Beautifully presented, very tasty and filling. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Always a delightful atmosphere with friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Menu is good. The Lamb dish was tasty but we should have been given steak knives for easier cutting. I wish they would serve Golden Pig ale which is a fantastic local beer.

We made our reservation over the phone with Olivia who was very helpful during the booking and also during our short stay at the hotel. The staff were very attentive and polite and the food in the bar/restaurant was very good. On our journey down to Devon we were contacted by the Hotel to see if we wanted to reserve a table in the restaurant that evening which was much appreciated. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

We stayed 2 nights so we could go sight seeing in the area. It was a good location for this. Good customer service. Very clean room. Excellent food. Its a very large place with lots of different dining rooms with fireplaces.

We had the family room No.17. On the ground floor. Close to the car park and great for our dog too. Very clean and spacious with a great big bath that the kids loved.Great food and staff very friendly and helpful.Highly recommend.

Great food at the restaurant and our room was spacious and full of character. Our only complaints were the worn and uncomfortable mattress and pillows, and some attention to detail needed in the maintenance. Towel rail was half working - easy to fix.

Wonderful stay and food! Staff are very friendly and attentive. The building is lovely and quirky, our suite was really comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were very good, especially the Sunday roast. Can’t fault this place, definitely recommended.

OCT x4 Excellent room and fab breakfast. Evening menu provided limited choice and portions were a challenge. A more simple/homely option of 'pie n mash' or similar, would be a good addition. Menu enables Chefs to demonstrate their skills and imagination, however they need to cater for diners with a less adventurous taste. Having to book a table in the bar, for the evening, just to have a drink was inconvenient. How about room guests being able to use library/lounge for an evening drink? All staff very friendly and helpful. Would happily stay again if visiting area in future.
