The Riverside in Torridge

Donna and Simon are the perfect hosts. We arrived on a Sunday without reservations and interrupted them with some friends having a private birthday party.We were invited to join in and were given tea, scones and birthday cake. The three ladies and our hosts provided the most enjoyable afternoon and evening when we joined them for dinner. While this seems to be what good hosts would do their warm greeting was genuine and much appreciated. We developed a bond and enjoyed a wonderful dinner together. Now, aside from all that the property is beautiful, well kept,clean, has all the amenities and the menu for the restaurant was much more than one should expect from a B&B. We stayed two days and wished we had more time to spend with these delightful hosts and hopefully now, friends. We highly recommend an extended stay you would be sorry to leave as we were.

We absolutely loved our time with Donna Simon and their lovely dogs.! We will definitely be back! The rooms are beautiful . Very clean and comfortable and well serviced. The food is second to none. Donna and Simon are great hosts. We felt very welcome and relaxed. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday both of you. Give Charlie and Chloe and Trip and Lucky a hug from us. We stayed for three nights at Riverside Cottage and enjoyed the time there immensely. Beautiful location right next to the river.The hosts Simon and Donna were very helpful and kind. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our room was comfortable and to our satisfaction. Would certainly recommend this Guest House to friends.

Incredible service, even better food! Not one bad thing to say about this place!! I've done afternoon tea here and now an evening meal! My husband and I can't promote this enough!

Fantastic B&B set right by the river with glorious views along the river in both directions. Really nice hosts for whom nothing was too difficult. So helpful. Breakfast was superb, the room was clean and comfortable. Well worth the money and I would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location , freindly , very clean and nice rooms , Simon and Donna have definitely have put their mark on this place and provide the personal touch.They are incredibly hospitable and nothing is too much trouble for them.Beautiful views and scenery everywhere you look and the breakfast is excellent. Highly recommend a visit.

We arrived for a friends birthday afternoon tea treat. Very warm welcome, lovely room with great view over river, shame weather was so awful. Lovely afternoon tea, scrummy caked, scones and sandwiches. Highly recommended

Well ladies this is the place to go for a high tea it is superb. I have just come back from celebrating my 50th there and we couldn't fault anything. The staff are so welcoming and friendly nothing too much trouble. Will be going back again for sure.

What an amazing place to stay! We wanted a nice chill weekend and we got it! The hosts Donna & Simon are so helpful nothing is to much trouble for them we were so impressed we booked another stay before we left

We had a lovely stay at riverside cottage. Simon and Donna are great hosts who make you feel at home. The rooms are great with a nice view at the river and beautiful garden. During our stay Donna managed a beautyarrangement with a homemade high-tea as sweat treat.
