Lovely views, very pleasant staff delicious food!Highly recommend the pork belly bites, with a cold beer as a nice taster in the sunshine. We had the pork bites and smoked haddock Scotch egg as shared starters, then mussels, Exmoor burger, and belly pork for main.. no room for dessert, but they looked excellent!

Cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough..one of the highlights of my stay in N Devon. Great views, excellent service and absolutely wonderful food. Highly recommend, a little on the expensive side but well worth it.

Good place to eat with good views over the estuary. Personally there were too many fish dishes for my liking but couldn't complain about the food and service. Not a cheap lunch though.

Brilliant experience for a person with allergies, numbered allergens next to each dish and when alerting the server of my allergies they checked with the kitchen and let me know any adjustments to dishes they could make. The view is immense and they allow dogs! Highly recommend even if it’s a bit of a journey

Great views, lovely staff who are very knowledgeable and recommended local beers to try. Food excellent. Ate here a few times on holiday and it didn't disappoint. Toilets are interesting too!

We booked for evening meal here after checking it out one afternoon during our holiday. The service was second to none. Our waitress Alison was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, the view was amazing, overlooking the estuary, and it was a really lovely evening. Highly recommended.

The stunning location and views would normally be the main feature of a restaurant perfectly placed in such a beauty spot. However in this instance I will definitely remember the perfectly cooked food from a creative and imaginative menu and the wonderful reception from truly professional staff. We will definitely be coming back very soon. A special night out.

One of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever had. Very generous plates full of really first class local ingredients and a lemon tart that would have Greg Wallace demanding a third helping on MasterChef. Not just great food but really friendly efficient staff and a special mention to Joe, a waiter probably made by Carlsberg. All in all pretty much faultless in every respect.

Staying down in Appledore for a few nights with my wife and our 3 dogs. Great location, accommodation at the sailors rest, and we had a wonderful breakfast (probably one of the best I have had in sometime) at the Royal George. We will look forward to having dinner and some drinks later. Highly recommend a stay and a stop in

We had the most delicious lunch here. Amazing food and service. The views were fabulous too. We had a dog with us so limited to downstairs only, but completely understand that! Not everyone likes dogs. Was a little more expensive than your usual pub grub but absolutely worth it. Would definitely return and recommend.
