The Royal Plaice in Torridge

Nice and hot fish and chips, they were about to close but still served us.

Just had the nicest portion of chips ever. Beautifully cooked in beef dripping.

Absolutely superb fish and chips! Freshly cooked and lovely crispy chips. Pity all fish and chips weren't as good as these.

Really lovely fish and chips, very tasty and really fresh. The portion sizes are very generous and it is all priced average - our oder was £32 and we had: large cod/chips, medium cod/chips, kids cod/chips, large sausage/chips, 4x bread rolls, mushy peas, sauces.The Restuarant was not doing eat in, but you can take them to the pub opposite as long as you buy a drink there. They even bring your order over to you in the pub! The pub is lovely and family friendly (be it a small traditional pub).It was really busy as it was lunch time, but it was only a 10min wait for our food. It was all piping hot and deliciously cooked.

It is a very nice little restaurant (and pub in the back) with great food. The fries are crunchy and tasty.

Lovely, freshly cooked fish and chips. We went here last year and had the same amazing experience. I personally struggle to eat batter on the fish but the batter on this fish was so light and edible. I finished the lot! Would always choose The Royal Plaice!

Best Fish & Chips ever! Homemade tartar sauce was delicious. Enjoyed with a pint at the pub opposite. Even brought our food to the table. What a great double act.

Best fish and chips we've had anywhere in the UK, everything cooked fresh lovely thick fish and all beautifully cooked. A bit of a wait (because cooked to order) owned by the pub next door so had a drink while we waited. Perfect. Also very reasonably priced.

Had a lovely bit of haddock and some great chips. You can eat your food over the road at the pub, they even bring it out to you. Or you can take your drinks over to the restaurant. Highly recommended.
