The Seagate Hotel Appledore North Dev in Torridge

In contrast to our very poor experience at the Boathouse, both part of the Youngs group - the Seagate has been absolutely amazing!We have been quite a few times now and have never experienced any issues.The staff there are genuinely friendly and attentive and always have time for a brief chat between serving.In particular, our visit today was made extra special by the service from Michelle and Richard, both are consistently great with not only us but with everyone else around us, nothing was too much trouble and both went the extra mile to make sure everyone had a great dining experience.The staff, in general, have a great way with each other, they all seem to genuinely enjoy working together and there’s a lovely, relaxed atmosphere about the place. The food also does not disappoint! 10/10!We highly recommend the Seagate and will continue to return in the future.Thanks for a great experience.

We stayed one night in The Annex room 18. Very spacious and comfortable. Great bathroom. Very large comfy bed. Superb breakfast. Highly recommend.

Modern, colourful and comfortable room with a lovely view across the bay. Also, a good shower.Tasty meals in their restaurant.Minor niggle is they have a small car park but it's normally full of patrons and pot luck to get a space.

Eating out in North Devon can be hit and miss, however the Sea Gate is always a welcome return. Of late the Chef is top notch and you can expect to get quality food and service in a relaxed warm pub. Highly recommended.

Had Sunday roast .First of all ,if I wanted belly pork i would have ordered it ! It was just fat ..the veg was all over cooked and cold. a amazing thing 2 b able 2 do ..I would not recommend..I was waiting 4 someone 2 ask was it OK..it never came ..(think they all no its not very good ) ..can't falt the staff over than that ...just not going there again 4 a roast

Somebody has thought of everything. Lovely rooms with stunning views across the bay and delicious food. The staff were fantastic polite friendly and helpful. What a fantastic hotel,pub and staff. We will be back

From initial reception the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with lovely exotic fresh and an interesting evening menu made eating at the hotel a pleasure. Our room was comfortable and well appointed although the lighting was a little dim.

A lovely night again at the Seagate. Stayed here in 2020 and decided last minute to stay for a night before 2022 starts. Just had a lovely meal. Excellent quality food and service from Michelle was excellent - a fantastic balance of friendliness and professionalism. Great range of drinks and food. A really nice end to the Christmas holiday period.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was lovely, the service was great and tables spread out to address the current situation. A first time for us but won't be the last! Thank you for helping to create a pleasant and memorable moment with our good friends.

My partner and I had a fantastic stay this weekend. The staff were so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. We interacted with bar staff, reception, breakfast staff and the people cleaning the rooms the next day and they were all superb. Room was cosy and nicely decorated and contained all we needed. I really liked the toiletries too. The tea and coffee making facilities were the best I have seen and the homemade cakes were delicious. Thank you everyone who made it a truly special stay.
