Beautiful old Thatched hotel with lovely garden. Bedroom really spacious with really comfy bed. Staff exceptionally friendly. Meals excellent. Breakfast hamper baskets really special. Very dog friendly. An excellent stay.

I only stopped for a drink and a sandwich - prices for drinks were far too dear. One small orange juice was nearly £4.00, one prawn sandwich £9.95 and a beer at £4.50 ish. Plus they put a service charge on without saying coming to £20.40. I don’t mind paying for things but feel this is too much - a service charge - no way!! Won’t be stopping at the Bearslake again - sorry!

Came here for a meal with my Girlfriend as part of her celebrations. Staff were lovely and welcoming but the food really let the place down. I ordered fish and chips and she ordered steak medium rare, the steak was truly well done and tough as a leather boot. We asked for a new steak as they were charging £27! New steak must have taken 15 minutes and I'd cleared my plate by the time it arrived, I can only assume they prioritised other diners because a medium rare steak does not take 15 minutes. The waitress kindly asked if it was ok this time, it was medium well at best but we didn't want to wait any longer so just said it was OK to avoid waiting again. When it came to the bill they charged us full price which I felt was unreasonable so asked for a discount. An employee I assumed was the manager offered us 10% off the bill which just wasn't acceptable in my books because we essentially ate separately. Moral of the story if you're gonna charge £27 for a steak make sure the chef actually knows how to cook steak. Wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for good steak, very disappointing.

Amazing, historical place to stay. Really atmospheric and surrounded by the beautiful moors. Romantic and peaceful. Staff here are great too, really friendly and helpful. Will definitely come here again.

Should be renamed the Highway Man Inn, 1 pint of beer & a coffee £9.46 the coffee didn't even come in a cup or mug but came in a disposable cup with plastic lid, very eco friendly NOT !!! , might have eaten here but menu vastly overpriced.

The food and service was excellent, took my partner and kids for a Sunday roast, which was one of the best roasts I’ve had in Cornwall by far! Also had a good kids menu that was well priced! Would highly recommend going here!

A truly wonderful lunch! Friendly greeting. Great menu. I chose a starter as my main , Panfield scallops, in a most device sauce, accompanied with skinny chips. The scallops melted in my mouth, absolutely delicious. My partner had lambs liver etc and that also was exceptional. Will certainly go again very soon. The desserts also were fabulous. Thank you for a great treat on our drive out.

Driven past this gorgeous pub so many times and finally got to go in yesterday. We only had a drink but the food that was being brought out looked amazing. Will definitely go back for a meal and to enjoy the amazing garden in warmer climes.

Lovely meal. Very nice owners. Unfortunately a service charge placed on our bill of £11.25- 10% of our total bill. This leaves a very sour taste- as it it up-to the individual to leave a tip.Doubt if we will go back because of this.

We had a meal there, I ordered desert it was very rubbery as had too much gelatine. When I complained, I was told ‘the chef says it’s fine ‘! And that was it ! No apology or would you like something else madam? Also went out for a smoke… was told you can only smoke in the designated area ….. right by a thatched roof lol!!!
