Bird's Nest Chinese Restaurant in West Devon

Went for dinner and ate in. Restaurant was very busy with takeaway customers so took a while to get served. Food was good, had crispy shredded beef with plain noodles.

Reliably good here. Always quick, friendly service. Good food. Recommend Pancake roll starters.

Delicious and hot on arrival and plentiful portions. Perfect after a day on Dartmoor.

First time trying and won’t be returning. The food was poor in flavour and texture.

Not good. Crispy beef was anything but. Chicken balls hard and inedible. Had a real monosodium glutamate look. Duck rolls contained virtually no duck. Real disappointment.

As far as the food goes, it was all very nice, tasty and plentiful portions however...... the staff were very young (students?) and lacking in any sort of knowledge regarding menu/drink availability etc. and one would doubt that they had a food hygiene certificate between them The bottled beers are listed all at the same price point but no indication of bottle size and the young lad serving hadn't a clue either 😶The general decor of the restaurant is tired at best and don't get me started on the toilets 🤢If I'd had this food delivered to home I would have been reasonably pleased but now I've seen where it comes from I'd probably have second thoughts...It's a shame and could have been so much better...

My friend and I went here last night for takeaway. Wonderful food and great service from staff. I've had delivery from them as well. Best Chinese in Tavistock. You won't regret getting food from here. Thanks guys!

Haven't eaten from here in quite a while but thought we would give it a go. Had issues placing the order as the person taking it on the phone struggled to understand us and we struggled to understand them. Ordered Duck chop suey but it arrived as King Prawn with bean sprouts. Overall the food quality was only OK. Won't be eating from here again for a while. Only saving grace was that it was ready very quickly.

Sent chowmein back as half the dish was cold. It was replaced with another cold dish of chowmein. Sent this back and received a hot dish. Sent the salt and pepper chicken back; it was also cold. It was replaced but although now warmer didn't taste very fresh. All the dishes were very salty. Sent drink back as wrong one bought to the table. Neighbouring table received incorrect bill. Another table received an incorrect order. To top it all I sat back in my chair and discovered it was broken!!! I'm guessing this restaurant has little competition in Tavistock?

Certainly can't complain. All tasted gorgeous. All plates were empty! All dishes were superb. Will certainly return. Thank you all at The Birds Nest.
