Made my Friday lunch a little bit special. Simple tuna and cucumber in a still warm brown baguette. Not something easy to get perfect in my experience, but this was. As was the service, smiley and clearly hard working, a pleasure to be served by. I could of expanded my waistline by a few inches but I’m going to save that for my next visit. Thank you.

I am a Chagford-phile. Who wouldn't be? Heaven on earth.Even so... Black's is by any standard wonderful. I have visited for so many years and have always had a Black's baguette for lunch on the moor during my walk. I have also always take home one of their lovely pies. Today I had some delicious flavours...celery and cashew nuts for lunch and a marvellous apricot and almond tart for my pudding back home in Bournemouth. The food is so fresh and high quality. Very charming owners too. Please stay open for another 5 years minimum so I can keep visiting.

An edible treasure trove of goodness and delights. Many things you never knew you just had to have in you larder! You can put on weight from the marvelous aromas.
