The food was good but the service was not great. I think the waitresses were quite inexperienced. My sister and I ordered the Dover sole. That was all we got! A fish on a plate. We were not asked if we wanted sides, and the other 2 meals came with a full compliment. The fish was tasty but it would be better to offer sides when the meal is ordered.

Awesome! Friendly and attentive staff and the best roast I've had out for a long time. Parking can be a bit of a pain in the village, but well worth the effort.

booked last minute due to the lateness of the time of arrival due to road closure we was met @ gate by young lad that we keeped updated over phone who showed us to the fox room friendly and lovely staff definitely be back

The food was less than average, left the chips as they tasted sweet and smelt of doughnuts obviously cooked in a fryer that doughnuts had been cooked in!!! The food was not up to standard nor worth the price expensive price charged.

Stopped here for lunch after a walk in Chagford. The reviews mentioned this pub as a good place to eat in while in Chagford. We were not disappointed. The pub from the outside looks very unremarkable, it was quiet inside, perhaps because it is in a side street. But the staff is friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. We sat in the small garden and ordered some food from the interesting menu. The food was very good indeed. I ordered Katsu chicken burger for main and anchovies to start with, both nicely cooked and presented.

A wonderful pub situated within a wonderful village. The atmosphere was calm and the staff, welcoming. The courses were neatly and exquisitely prepared for us at just the right sizes for a three course meal - my favourite being the chocolate torte at the end. I look forward to returning soon!

We were really surprised by The Chagford InnA Faboulous menu choice. And the food was on another level just beautifully presented and cooked to perfection.We as a family will return again and again.Thank you all for a truly wonderful rather grown up luncheon :) xx

Worst couple of nights sleep ever, do not stay here if you value the ability to sleep! The most fundamental thing when providing accommodation is a reasonable bed. The mattress at the Chagford Inn was the worst I’ve experienced, words cannot express how terribly uncomfortable both my parter and I found the mattress. The picture doesn’t fully illustrate just how sunken the mattress is. If that was not enough, the kitchen staff arrive in the early morning and congregate outside the window and has loud conversations. Please pay a little extra and stay somewhere else, we stayed for two nights and both of us need a break to recover from the worst accommodation ever.
