Cornish Arms in West Devon

We had an amazing meal for my partner’s birthday, absolutely delicious food, everyone enjoyed it very much, even kids demolished their burgers:)It’s our go to restaurant, we wanted to show it to the family and they all loved it.We found a birthday card on a table on arrival which was a lovely touch.Genuinely highly recommend everything on a menu! You won’t be disappointed, bread and whipped butter is a must though!Thank you to the whole team for another great experience:)

I booked a table here for my wife and I for Valentines evening. Absolutely amazing experience, fantastic food (well done Seb & team) and attentive waiting staff. Can’t wait to return very soon.

Recently refurbished, The Cornish Arms is tastefully decorated but so classy.We had drinks here on Saturday with family members, the atmosphere is always nice,warm and friendly.They are rather expensive for drinks and food but the seem to cater for more discerning clientele. That said the food is high class gourmet, the beer was top quality so all in all to be expected I guess.We loved it all the same.

Gorgeous food, the lamb melted in my mouth. Not cheap, but worth the money. The staff are excellent and attentive, but not too much. Highly recommend.

We had not booked at the restaurant but the friendly and knowledgeable staff found us a table and we were looked after royally. The food menu was extensive and the meal was magnificent. I cannot recommend the Cornish Arms at Tavistock highly enough - treat yourselves - you will not regret it.We have decided to make the Arms our "go to" restaurant.

Beautifully updated rooms, comfy beds, great service and food. A friend and I had to attend a funeral in Tavistock and the staff were so accommodating. Allowing us a late check out so we could get changed and leaving the car until after the service. Thank you for your understanding and kindness.

Had my birthday dinner here yesterday with some friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The staff are friendly and very professional. It was a lovely night from beginning to end. Definitely will return for more celebrations.

The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Venison and beef fillet were outstanding. We were sat in the dog friendly section, and was very pleased when people kept arriving with dogs that they were all sat in separate sections away from one another. One of our dogs can be reactive to other dogs barking, so this made our visit and ultimately all the other customers visits much more enjoyable as you wouldn't have known that any dogs were there (we appreciate having dogs in eateries is not something everybody agrees with). From the outside, and the decor inside you wouldn't match the venue with the type of food served, as it felt like a typical 'town pub' rather than restaurant/gastropub, but who cares about decor when the atmosphere, service and food is fantastic. The Cornish Arms will be on our list to return to when next in Tavistock, and we will be recommending to all our friends just over the bridge in the 'other' county! Thank you!

A mixture of old school favourites and modern classics this famous gastro pub deserves it awards and reputation. Good value, relaxed, delicious food and dog friendly. Service by young and well trained staff. Decor and sense of occasion lacks something but great eating.

Simply the best pub I’ve ever eaten in and stayed in!.. and I’ve been in a lot! Outstanding hospitality from the moment We arrived to the moment we left. The food was faultless and truly deserves the bib gourmand if not more. We stayed in the Stag room which was jaw dropping- the attention to detail and the scale were more akin to a west London boutique hotel only classier! 10/10 for the Cornish arms team - we will be back!!
