Hotel Endsleigh Restaurant in West Devon

This is the most beautiful hotel in stunning location. Food was amazing. Staff were so welcoming & couldn't do enough. The rooms are really nice, it's an old building so the rooms are rustic not modern but so very charming. Can't wait to return.

A beautiful magical place. We stayed for 3 nights dinner, bed and breakfast , with our two dogs . We spent a days fishing for trout on the river Tamar, which is at the bottom of the estate. A beautiful, restful extravagant retreat.

We popped in Hotel Endsleigh for lunch on the spur of the moment my work college had eaten there before. Firstly I gave 4 stars not 5 overall because I haven't stayed there ..however this lunch experience was lovely the servers were very attentive, we only had a main Cod & Chips and it was delicious, the triple cooked beef dripping chips we're spot and the fish was excellent, beautiful white cod and the batter was fantastic...the hotel is very period and beautiful, and outside the drive in is about 2/3 of a mile and it is stunning, amazing place for a wedding, If your in the area and want a treat go to Hotel Endsleigh.

Very quant place providing excellent service in a beauty surrounding. Food was average with good choice. I wish there was options of 2 or 3 course. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful gardens, good service with one or two minor hiccups. But food at dinner was disappointing. Breakfast was OK apart from exceptionally weak tea.

A peaceful hotel set away in a beautiful Devon valley. A lovely old building with great open fire places. This is a place to go for a quiet retreat in the countryside, well away from city life. You can go for long walks in the beautiful grounds.Staff were exemplary. Polite, attentive and friendly.Food was exceptional. We enjoyed the spring menu which was fresh and well balanced. The wine menu was excellent with a wide selection of old and new world wines - although the markup on some wines was probably a bit on the high side.This is not somewhere to go for an action packed holiday, or for lots of activities. There are no spa or gym facilities. But if you want a relaxing break away in beautiful surroundings then we could not recommend this venue more highly.

We had an absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. Great staff, beautiful rooms and lovely grounds to explore. Restaurant was also delicious

So it's a place where those who want to be seen go.. all kinds of private reg plates in the car park..The food... today had a roast beef lunch. Yorkshires a bit plastic, roast beef too thick and way too tough. Gravy had garlic in.. just wrong. The veg were nicely cooked with the carrots a chargrilled touch. Green veg the right colour green but too salty..Dessert was a lemon and passion fruit Meringue tart was quite perfect and the BASIL SORBET just divine!For the price it just wasn't perfect enough but the basil sorbet definitely helped the score! It's probably worth going for that alone!Waiting staff the girls quite pleasant and unobtrusive but there was one guy with long hair in an unkempt ponytail plastered in a mask who kept saying our name wrong which we found slightly amusing and who clearly delights in testing your etiquette of fine dining. (I think we passed)Big open fires wonderful on a cold wet dayTable was by the window which was a delightful view but very drafty.£173 for 2 mains 1 dessert 1 coffee and a bottle of wine (oh and the dessert was complimentary because we waited 30 minutes for it) service charge is added at 12.5%Boom baby!

We stayed here over Christmas for 5 nights. The property itself is gorgeous. The food was a disaster. The first day we ate lunch and dinner at the hotel. My husband got food poisoning, we think it was the game terrine. He was bed bound for two days. After informing the staff of what happened they were sympathetic but nothing was really done to compensate us except for removing the cost of one breakfast since we didn’t go down.We however didn’t go down for any breakfasts. My husband barely ate for two days and we were both very wary of the food after that. I heard another guest remark that the food often seemed reheated. I can’t confirm if that’s the case but it was overall disappointing though.Worst of all was Christmas Day lunch. At £120 pp it should be top quality. The main being the worst. A low quality turkey roll, poorly cooked veg, and the most miserable gravy and roast potatoes. We left after the main and went for a walk. I’ll attach a photo of it below but they should be ashamed to have served up that meal. I watched as other guests left half finished plates, at least in our section of the restaurant. Unfortunately we won’t ever go back, which is such a shame as if the food had been good I would go back every month or two for a getaway. In general the service was great, and really appreciated, but that should be the case in such a place. We ended up spending nearly £3,000 for a 5 day trip. Bitterly disappointed! I didn’t have the energy to contest anything at check out.

Lovely waiting staff, service is not the quickest but I suppose that is the point of the dining experience at this venue. For people who have children there is a kids menu as well but I will say that the portions are big either for kids or adult meals. Grounds are really lovely with a couple of nice walk routes around the grounds.
