La Cascata in West Devon

What can you say about Lydford Gorge but FANTASTIC. I love the outdoors but this was great place to visit if you have a few hours. If you have more time then even better. The waterfalls were on fire since we had a good down poor the day before. A well maintained path, which is a one way system that creates a great walking loop. He cafe was great also. It's hard to believe I've never been here before, a crack Gem on the edge of dartmoor.

A great place to walk, although not for those with mobility issues. Sturdy footwear is needed, although you could get away with trainers. Be aware of tree roots too.My main recommendation is to check with the friendly person on the office abut which route to take. If you do the full route walking along the water with the handrail it is quite perilous in places. It is slippery and you have to really use the rail, maybe duck and definitely concentrate. As someone in the couple ahead of me said afterwards when they were sitting in the garden with refreshments "that was challenging wasn't it?"Yes fun, and in parts challenging, unless you only do the first half! If you opt to do the full route once you've gone past the waterfall and reached the hard part there is no turning back as it has to be a one way system owing to the geography of the terrain.It is beautiful though, but sadly I didn't take pictures if most of the best parts....

This walk is amazing. The scenery is beautiful through the gorge and though the path is uneven and can be slippery in places it adds to the sense of adventure. Well worth a visit at any time of the year.

A wonderful spot, very peaceful and lovely to walk around, we did the walk at the other end, not the massive loop. We saw the waterfall which was stunning to see, and the old mine which is now a bat cave. It was very slippery along the pathways so good shoes are essential. Lots of dogs enjoying the area too. Both areas have toilets but only one area has a cafe open at the moment. Lots of areas of the pathway have been closed off due to maintenance.

This is a truly beautiful place to visit. BUT, it's definitely a place to take good walking shoes. This is one of the most impressive places you could visit, if your up for a walk.The waterfall is great, but the river walk is so incredibly impressive. Take a camera and enjoy your 3 mile walk. This is rather a tough walk, so please make sure your able to cope with all the steps, there are rather a lot of them.

Beautiful hike and great day out. We came in at the Devil's Cauldron parking location and did the full circuit, adding a stop at the tea room(of course) and the bird hide. Though most of the migratory birds were gone, were able to see some wrens and robins along the way. The White Lady waterfall is fantastic, and the River Trail return is exciting and beautiful, with lots of rapids and a very narrow trail with a metal rail to hold onto at the narrower parts. Very well maintained and marked trails. Highly recommend.

An amazing venue, well looked after by the National Trust. Well worth a visit no matter the season, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.There are 2 entrances so two lengths of walk. The longest being around 4 miles with some mild exertion required.Mother Nature in all her glory.

Lovely walk and the waterfalls are very picturesque, it took us around 2hrs to do the waterfall circle route but we stopping and paddling in the water as the weather was hot. Be careful if you have mobility troubles or walking with small children, the route to the waterfall is fine some steps and a few steep bits but you may want to turn around and go back, if you follow the route back up the paths are narrow, very uneven and steep they also have big drops too. If you nees the loo they are located at the very beginning and then half way round after that you have to wait till you get back.

Get your walking shoes 9n or even your boots, you'll need them as it gets quite slippy. Not recommended for trainers or Flip Flops. If your an enthusiastic walker you should easily achieve the entire walk within one hour and 30 minutes. Unlike me and my wife who it took over 2 hours and then found out that there were two entrances and I had to walk back over a mile to collect our car. But beautiful area.

A spectacular walk, hard going but fantastic views. There is currently a one way system so if you plan on visiting be aware its one way so once you start you have to complete the 3 mile walk which takes around 2 hours. The walk can be steep, slippery and tricky in places with small pathways and a lot of steps. There is a cafe, shop and toilets on site and a small play area for children. I would definitely recommend a walk here. Dogs welcome but told to keep them on the leads.
