We spent three nights here which were the best three of our trip. This is a delightful place run in a great caring way. The room was well furnished with a great view. Breakfast was superb with a special addition of fresh honeycomb from the garden. Will be going back.

Stayed for a night of luxury and the hotel definitely provided that! Prosecco in the room on arrival as requested, a gorgeous 4 poster bed, bath with lovely soaps and shampoos and a gorgeous view of the gardens. Absolute bliss. We were made to feel so relaxed and well looked after. It was exactly what we needed! Thank you for having us! I would highly recommend staying here !!

Lovely place, lovely views, lovely setting. Very dog friendly Amazing hosts who had made it feel very safe yet welcoming. Only disappointment is that we only stayed one night! Have already recommended it to family and friends who have dogs as a great base to explore the region.

Terrific place with super sweet family (and cheeky kiddos). Their scones are indeed legendary. And it's only a few minutes walk away from a nice pub.We extended our stay a few nights because it just fit the bill of relaxation in comfort. Good value for money.

A beautiful small hotel with modern up-to-date fashionable comfortable rooms. Lovely lounge overlooking a beautiful garden which gives access to the Granite Way - a cycle path and footpath following a former railway line - so nice and mainly flat - with stunning views across to the slopes of Dartmoor. I went for a lovely 7km run before dinner at the nearby Dartmoor Inn (which was so good we booked dinner for the following night too) and there were couples and families following the trail too. The breakfast is mainly locally sourced and beautifully presented and served by attentive staff. I especially like the fresh honey on the comb. Stayed two nights with a group from work and loved it! Next time I stay I think I'll bring my bike, or hire from a bike hire place a few miles to the north. Good wifi, but no phone signal (Vodafone) around here - so prepare in advance to use email or WhatsApp, instead of phone and text.

Beautiful hotel in a picturesque location, which is only a short walk to Lydford Gorge. Our room was very lovely; a soft comfy bed, free standing bath and tea/coffee provided. The price was very reasonable, especially as it included breakfast (which was delicious). The service was impeccable with all staff being very friendly, helpful and accomodating. We are very much looking forward to staying here again!

Hmmm, whilst this is a lovely place to stay I don't think it should position itself as a hotel; more an 'upmarket' B&B where you can get dinner if you request it...Not as professional as some of the chains "alright darlin" at breakfast combined with clients stood in the doorway of breakfast being ignored, tables not cleared, others seeking cutlery, butter, salt and pepper from other tables.Whilst this review may sound critical and harsh with a few tweaks this place could be really really good it just isn't there yet - but that's only one persons opinion...

My fiancé and I stayed at Lydford house over the bank holiday and I have to say the hotel was and is one of the best I have stayed in for a while now. You drive into a beautiful setting and a beautiful presented exterior. This is followed by by a warm well presented welcome by the staff. The hotel is well kept, clean and has a beautiful interior. The room was absolutely amazing and clean. Plenty of room for the two of us and was totally comfortable and warm. Our first encounter with the dining room was dinner Saturday night. The staff were attentive and polite along with a good and tasty meal, which was worth every single penny. Sunday morning was the next and breakfast. There was plenty of choice from cereal, toast, fruit and a comprehensive hot menu which was well presented and tasty. What more could you ask for?Well I can tell you I shall definitely be revisiting. And I would like to thank the owners and staff for there help to make it a wonderful weekend away. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Lovely little hotel in a very nice location, close to Tavistock and surrounded by some nice little gardens. My room was a good size with an incredibly comfortable 4 poster bed. The breakfast selection was good and the staff were very friendly. My only issue was with my shower/bath. The bath worked fine on the first night but the following evening I had very little water pressure for the bath and shower and it was more of a dribble when the shower was turned on. Other than that I had a really good stay.
